That makes it tougher for sure. If you're 16th in line you're SOL. Even if you aren't you have about six hours to drive to an area, find an animal and harvest it. If it's an elk you only have a few more hours to get you and the animal off which could be difficult.
Nature. It's cheaper than therapy.

No evening hunt, because you have to be off base by 1630.
You can only have one (1) helper.
They might as well just kept it closed.
The general hunt individuals should be last in line, and the permit tagholders should have first shot at the 15 slots.
I will stop now.

Man, they sure know how to take the fun out of hunting!  I've had the pleasure of hunting and harvesting animals out on the YTC over the years and this is really going to sour the experience.  Makes me want to change a few of my applications now that we know what the new "rules of engagement" will be.  You kill an elk at lunch time, you might as well just butcher it on the hillside and get it all out right then and there.  Realistically, you will be tardy getting to the gate and then get a ticket and lose your privileges.  Ouch!

I had been warned that it was going to be really restricted, but didn't know the specifics until a buddy sent me this a few hours ago.

Good luck to everyone in the draws.

Boy, doesn't sound like they like hunters much out there these days.
Charlie Kirk didn't speak hate, they hated what he said. Don't get it twisted.

I was initially excited to see that they were opening it up again this season until I saw the memorandum a couple weeks ago.  Also talked to people at the rec center and game department in Yakima.  The whole thing is going to be a big mess and very limited in time actually spent hunting.  My biggest question to them was how are they going to organize the hunters  place in line? I don't believe you can enter the parking lot until 6:55 and I'm sure they won't allow you to park on the shoulder leading in. And if you're number 15 you probably won't leave the guard shack until 9:00.  And you can only pick one unit to hunt in.  Hard pass for me.  Doesn't sound like much fun at all.

IMO they should remove the general archery hunt out there for this very reason, tho there is only a 4 day overlap of the permit season and the general season. The break down of permit numbers shows no more than 15 per season. I don’t think they should allow any bird/coyote hunters out there during permit seasons either.
