Wow, what a morning, Gary. I've lost a few, but never more than one in a day.

Made a couple sets this morning and they were singing to let me know I wasn't alone but I never did see any.

Jerry, I'm using the Federal 90 grain Hp stuff, it's what I had available for the new Tikka. It's not the bullets, it's the loose screw behind the trigger  :P
I think I just clipped the dog in the butt-inski as he waddled away from the crime scene instead of running full throttle. When I get a good hit, the 90's do a very fine job. It goes to prove, coyotes aren't willing to just lay down and die real easy  :o

As far as the 6.8 goes, we know what the problem is, those Accubond 110's are just too hard of a bullet and the 6.8 can't push them hard enough for expansion on these small dogs. We are switching back to 110 V-Max and 90 TNT's from now on.

Jerry, I have not used the 85 grain V-Max bullets yet, I have a bunch of 75 grain Sierra HP's that work awesome, I just need to load some up.

Anyway, today VarmintVentilator and I went back out to try to better the odds from yesterday but the fog was a real pain so we left early. Only out for an hour or so but Varmint V did get the only thing that showed up. I started out with a couple of challenge howls and this guy showed up to take on all new comers, cept he got more than he bargained for. The 110gr V-Max from a 270 did the trick at 84 yards.

So I want to know how much a picture of 6 wolves is worth, sorry no field photos. LOL  and maybe a Lynx I called in.  I'm not sure yet on any of them as the light SUCKED and the Bobcat in question I thought was a cougar at first then all I could think of was Lynx but figured.....nah just a huge Bob.   Then I ran into someone who told me they saw a lynx the week before and they told me the exact spot I had this guy. LOL  I am about to upload the pics to see what I think and what you might think.  All I could think about was camera settings and getting the pictures.   In my mind I was thinking holy *censored* thats a big bob and man he looks funny :chuckle:

Bone,
On one hand I think how few of people have been able to take pics of wolves in this state......

But, on the other..............it's kinda hard to get real excited about "seeing" them.

I'd love to see the pics though, poor quality or not.  I figure they ought to be worth 3 points a piece or something  :dunno:

I tried to walk out a badger today in the snow but he didn't want to come out of his hidey hole...although I did think of calling just outside of it to see if I could get a pic of him coming to the call.  But, that would be a better situation if I would have had my camera with me.

I did get two today and lost one.

Two more for Team Lamar.

BTW, if you look closely to the small mangy dog in my left hand, you can see a line on his side.  That was the first shot.  The camera doesn't do it justice, but it is a grazing shot that barely hit him in high on the hip then ran along side of him.  Looked like you used a small pair of clippers on him.  I haven't one quite like that before....and it kinda cracked me up.
