thanks guys, i should have gotten rid of the coyotes before i went to school today. when that rain hit i had blood just dumping out of the bed of my tailgate when i was pulling out of the parking lot at the college i had some disgusted looking ppl when i pulled out

1 for SBA, This guy startled the heck out of me, I was calling in a draw and watching my downwind side and in front, after my first call I waited for about 5 minutes and called again, after about 4 minutes went by this guy howled about 25 yrds from me upwind. I turned my head and he was sitting down watching some deer moving about 280 yds down the hill. I soon as I saw him raise his head to howl again I turned and he cut loose with few barks and pointed his head straight up and started a long howl, I put him down about 2 octaves before he hit his high note.   He was really furred up nice but no more room in my freezer.

You guys are keeping on em.  Part of me is happy to have this over, part of me will miss it.  I was stuck most of the day on kids duty.  I had to listen to Swag all in jitters talking about 8 yotes he called in one stand.  (Oh I'm not supposed to bring that up)  I think he is still out there tracking blood.  I got two females, one was Friday morning in the rain and the one this morning.

Today was a fair day, VarmintV and I had 3 respond this morning and one failed to make the great escape. She stopped for a quick look back at 113 yards and I sent the 110 V-Max in that nano second of time and ended her journey.

Later on we redirected our efforts to another great place but just never could get anything to respond and only heard one coyote waaaaay off in the distance.

This afternoon we decided to just walk out across from my place were we always hear howls and Lordy, this afternoon was no different. Within only a few minutes we spotted one dog and put the sneaky on it. We found a good place to set up and I let loose with a few howls and not 20 seconds go by when VV spots 3 coming right at us about 300 yards out. I let out a couple of pup yips and they were now within killing range. We glassed up on two but I couldn't shoot due to a rock directly between me and two of the three. So as I squirmed around trying to get on one of the two standing on the right side of the rock, VV had one dead to rights on the other side of the rock. They must have spotted my movement and turned to go away but one walked in front of the rock giving me a clear kill. I sent the 110 V-Max soaring from the 6.8 and connected directly in the back of the males head dropping it DRT at 128 yards.

If tomorrow works out, we hope to end this years hunt with great success and sense of pride knowing that maybe we saved at least one fawn or calf from the death grip of a coyote.

It's been allot of fun and most certainly a lot of work. Calling coyotes is a great challenge, killing them is even tougher at times. VarmintVentilator and I work hard for these dogs as many others here do. We never take opportunity shots, as we much prefer hunting the ultimate hunter on their terms. We have crawled around on allot of dirt and rocks on our bellies to get the perfect shot. Darn near froze our toes and fingers off waiting and calling hoping that coyote a mile out would soon appear within the kill zone. Others came in so fast and so close we never had a chance to shoot. But during it all the rush has never faded and the anticipation of doing it all over again tomorrow just continues to push this old man harder and harder.   

Thanks to Big10guage and Bullelk for allowing me to be part of thier team it has been a tremendous honor and a once in a lifetime experience. I just wish all of the coyotes I poked holes in had been recovered our team numbers would have looked much better. Both VV and I had a bad case of JUJU going on where we either couldn't hit what we were looking at or they just flat refused to die. In any case thanks to you both for allowing me to participate and without question I can speak for VV, he truely had a great time also.

skunked again I did see lots of rock chucks. But didn't shoot at any cause I didn't have ear plugs. Stopped by Fishtrap and did some shooting.

Nice Shooting FalFire, Look who's smiling now.  Glad to have you and VV on the team and there is always next year,  I like your guy's style of hunting and can tell that you guys really put the effort in. Gringo is right about the contest ending, kinda glad to see it over but will miss it,  Hopefully will get out tomorrow for a few hours, then have to wait until next year. just hope I don't go into withdrawals from the lack of Coyote Crack.

Well ended my last hoorah with wiseoldyote today and only saw one coyote in 5 stands.  I gotta say, wiseoldyote is a damn coyote wisperer!  And he put the smack on the Rock Chucks and blew my ears out with his 22-250 (sweet gun).  'Twas a good day.

Can't hunt tomorrow 'cause I have to go to Seattle for two days.  I'm gonna bring my howlers and have some fun during my nighttime smoke breaks!  (Any residents of Ballard, don't shoot!)

Thanks THD for letting me on!  I was hoping as much as I hunt that I could have produced more, but oh well.
