A buddy of mine named fishyrick killed a blacktail on sunday. This buck was big....had a swollen neck and stunk  like it was in mid rut. Now I know the rut doesn't usually kick in for another week and a half or so but damn if it didn't seem like he was starting to rut up. Just got back from the butcher and it went 160 butcher wieght. No head, hide or legs.....big deer. Shot in skagit county.

Tasty!  Need to see a photo of this beast!

He said I can post pics of him when He emails me the photos. The buck also had a double throut patch and no molors for theth. He's having a shoulder mount done. Beautiful 3x4 with heavy mass up to the tip of the tines.
Just one more day

The one i pulled out last weekend was from Whatcom County, and it was in full rut. The glands were all dark, huge neck, and bedded with a doe.

My little 3x2 was a tad stinky.

I saw a nice 3x3 who was all rutted up with a swollen neck and at least a dozen fresh wounds on his head and neck. He was killed in the Deschutes unit on opening day.

7:30, driving into work, saw a nice big forky feeding with four does along the road.  Foggy but not dark.  He just stayed with them.  Another doe was alone across the road.
