the NRA is heavily involved now.
Warning! Do not elect politicians who don't support the 2nd Amendment as the Constitutional framers intended - There are no Collective Rights in the Bill of Rights. America is about Individual Freedoms, not collectivism!

Speaking of which, I was just on there to renew my membership.  I had been doing it by mail and did not realize that they have a payment plan for life membership now.  I just never had the cash all at once to get a life membership before.  I now have the payment plan set up.  $25 a quarter is well worth the money in my opinion.

The Democratic senator over here said that he took an oath to uphold the constitution of the United States and that he believed it would not make it out of the Senate. His letter sounded pretty much like a slam dunk vote against the bill. Keep up the pressure. This is just a fringe of society pushing for this crap.

ALERT
Assault Weapons Ban for the State of Washington was proposed my four State Senators that would bring California style gun control to the NW and ultimately ban many semi-automatic firearms commonly owned by Washingtonians. Like the failed Clinton Gun-Ban that sunset in 2004, this bill is about certain firearms based solely on how they look, not about fighting crime. This gun ban scheme will only punish the law-abiding citizens and will do nothing to curb crimes or keep criminals from obtaining firearms illegally. The link has been show above so no need for me to include.

This legislation would establish far-reaching restrictions on semi-automatic firearms (by calling the assault weapons) and ammunition magazines. SB 6396 affects every firearm modified to conform with the now extinct Clinton Gun-Ban plus many other semi-automatic firearms that have to lineage to those rifles or any military style orientation.

Here are a few highlights of this bill, mine you there is MORE!!!!!!!!

1. Labels some pistol, rifles and Shotguns Assault Weapons on looks alone, and bans them. Places criminal FELONY penalties for violations.
2. Prohibits the manufacture, purchase or transfer of Assault Weapons, box magazines(over 10 rounds) and conversion or parts kits to build certain firearms.
3. Allows for the inspection of your home by Law Enforcement to ensure compliance.
4. Prohibits the use of Assault Weapons on public lands(except for authorized ranges.

The bill says.

Quote
(a) Safely and securely store the assault weapon. The sheriff of the county may, no more than once per year, conduct an inspection to ensure compliance with this subsection

Seems like that could be DANGEROUS duty...with a wicked off citizenry might be scary to do that.

This is the easiest method to communicate.  You send your senator your message and you cc your representatives at the same time.

Now that is good tax dollars at work.   Please make sure you in your email or phone call that you represent your house hold.   This means there are more then one vote at that house.

Just wanted to bump this with some e-mail contact links,

If you haven't written in or called, Go For It, the louder we are this time, the more they'll hesitate next time...

Washington “Assault Weapon” Ban Impacts All Firearm Owners!

Stand-Up and Make Your Voices Heard Now!

Last week, NRA-ILA informed you about Senate Bill 6396, legislation that would bring California-style gun-control to the Northwest and ultimately ban many semi-automatic firearms commonly owned by Washingtonians.

In fact, SB 6396 is more far-reaching than it appears on the surface and will absolutely impact a gigantic swath of Washington firearm owners, including concealed pistol license holders, hunters and competitive pistol shooters. As examples, consider the following restrictions that flow from the provisions of this horrendous piece of gun control legislation:

Ø      Every semiautomatic AND PUMP-ACTION rifle and shotgun that has a detachable magazine and has a pistol grip located rear of the trigger (yes, that is just about all of them) is defined as an “assault weapon” and is banned under SB 6396!

Ø       If you and your child/children are out in the woods plinking with his or her Ruger 10-22 and there are more than 10 rounds in the magazine, you are a FELON!

Ø      If you are a Concealed Pistol License holder and your semi-auto self-defense pistol contains more than 10 rounds, you are a FELON!

Ø      The use of firearms defined as “assault weapons” (see first bullet point) are banned for use in hunting!

Ø      Competitive shooters will be impacted as any semi-auto pistol that has a detachable magazine and is equipped with a muzzle brake or compensator is defined as an “assault weapon!”

Ø      If you own a firearm(s) defined as an “assault weapon” on the date this bill becomes law, you can keep it if you are willing to allow your Sheriff to come into your home once every year to ensure you store your firearm(s) appropriately!

Senate Bill 6396 is proof that the gun-ban groups and politicians are not interested in only banning semi-automatic firearms that happen to look like military firearms. This bill shows where they really want to go with their agenda! This gun ban scheme will only punish law-abiding citizens and will do nothing to curb crime or keep criminals from obtaining firearms illegally.  This is not only another attack on our Second Amendment rights in Washington State, but an attack on your Fourth Amendment right against unreasonable searches of your home!

Please contact both of your State Representatives and your State Senator TODAY and urge them to oppose SB 6396!
