New book - Rifle Bullets for The Hunter
« on: May 10, 2007, 09:20:28 AM »
Just got my copy of the new book "Rifle Bullets for The Hunter" by John Barsness, Craig Boddington, John Haviland, Richard Mann, Ron Spomer and Bryce Towsley. Looks good so far. They dedicated the book to the memory of Finn Aagaard and quote him at the start. I like the direction it takes right from the get go:

"When it comes to killing game, a three-thousand dollar rifle with a one-thousand dollar scope is worth no more than its bullet. If the bullet fails, the rest is for naught. When one gets right down to it, killing power depends on two factors; proper bullet placement and the behavior of the bullet after it arrives..."

Looks like a well researched, decently written book, but so far I've just been scanning and reading a page or two here and there. More later, after I've finished it.

Regards, Guy

Let us know what bullets they recommend for different game. Let's see if we are already on the right track or not.

Gentlemen, this "Guy" is one of the experts you hear about, and I don't mean the author of the book!

A Highpower shooter, a L.E. Sniper, Trainer of CQB, Handgun, and Hand-to-Hand fighting......one of the "Damn Fine People" that you hear about, and I'm very glad to consider him a Friend.

He also Trained Scout Snipers for the Marine's. Yeah, I guess you could say he kinda knows what he's talking about.....just hope he doesn't mind me telling all this.  :P

Just hope he posts some more on here.......
