GMU 388 and 382

Has anyone ever hunted these GMU's (I haven't). Not a lot of animals taken, but also not alot of hunters, so the success rates are high. Just curious about them. The regs say any elk. Which makes me wonder a few things, are there not a lot of elk to be had in the area, or they are trying to diminish the elk population in that area, or it is in a migratory area and the majority of the elk haven't migrated to that area yet by hunting season. Just curious why the success rates are high, it is an any elk area for an eastside tag, and more people don't hunt it??

there in there.. Unless it snows its a lonely little hunt.. grayback has elk.. just a smaller herd.. I know threres a herd up in the rattlesnake but could never get any answers out of the ol timers id talk to during deer season.. beat the brush and you'll find em...

382 is a waist. There is no area that is public land that can be hunted for elk. The elk in 388 is hard to find to the point the locals struggle to find them. I would recommend hunting some where else. People get lucky at times. I am very familar with both units. I live in the area. Hope this helps.
