Muzzleloaders in Wa?
« on: June 07, 2010, 09:14:27 PM »
New to Muzzleloading. What Rifles are legal in Washington State? I have heard many different things.  Anybody have a list of models or makes that could help me narrow it down? Thanks Jason

A list of rifles would be a little long winded. The rifle must be flint, Musket or #11 caps for ignition and the cap must be exposed to the elements. The cap or breach cannot be covered by any part of the rifle proper I believe the wording is now. So if it uses Flint Musket or #11 for ignition (no 209) and the cap is exposed to weather you are ok. For deer you must use 40 cal or larger and for all other Big Game its 45 cal and larger.

Have fun, I shoot White Rifles.

Several guys on here who like the inlines shoot the CVA Elkhorn Pro including myself.  It is legal and operates like a bolt action rifle.

also matchlock and wheel lock rifles are legal and number 10 caps as well any original style cap that fits onto the nipple. and no glass or electric anything attched to the gun.

i shoot a cva elk horn with the musket caps and a black diamond xr 2 of the most popular muzzle loaders there are a few others like the knight bighorn/wolverine etc that are legal as well page 70 in the regs has everything in writing for you :hello:
