Patroling private land

Today I am patroling my neighbors land for trespassers. He has problems with this every season. I never thought this would be so boring. Go figure the day that I watch his property there is no problems, although it seems to get worse as the season goes on and people start to get desprate. I am surounded by talking turkeys though.

My buddies are doing the same on there land northwest of Davenport. Every year they kick off at least 10 guys that tresspass and then get crappy about it. The land was state land about 10 years ago. The state did a land swap and now it is owned by my friends.
As a property owner, nothing makes me more mad than some prick that gets crappy about it or lies to you. If they said sorry won't happen again, I would be fine with it. I know farmers that have had guns pulled on them on there own property. The one guy will never allow another outside hunter in his property again because of it.

Then there is the case of getting permission and you bring a friend and he starts bringing all his friends. Lost the best piece of property I have ever hunted. Good lesson. I only hunt with two guys I trust now.
One ruins it for all!

I already filled my deer tag in the muzzy season, however I am armed with my sidearm and video camra, Its funny how one person can ruin it for everyone. A park ranger just came by and said he was on his way to asist his crew who had a guy caught with a dead buck in riverside state park. I hope they throw the book at him, it happens every year and I'm sick of it. Its not that hard to follow the rules.

its a shame that landowners have to deal with that, and that some even deal with property damage,(cows/tractors being shot) and that some people have pulled guns on landowners.

Yeah,last year a trespasser pulled his fence down to get a deer out they shot. It amazes me the amount of road hunters here when ALL the land is private or state park. These are the people that make us all look bad.

Thats why I dont knock on doors anymore for acess to private land.  Too many guys have ruined it for us, and many landowners are quick to tell you they wont allow hunters.

There are some hogs in there to. That's ashame. Not worth losing your hunting privledges.

Some of the biggest deer I have ever seen were in riverside state park. That's probibly why so many poach in there. I just had my first looky loo. I reconize the truck from last year. This guy just drives the roads looking for deer on private land.

I just dont understand why some people resort to that typ of behavior.  I bet they wimper when the warden catches them too.

I use too hunt on my bro-in-laws family property that borders state land just northeast of wilbur. I kicked out so many hunter's in the 3 years I hunted over there, even with no trespassing sign's up every 50 feet or so. They would walk thru the state land and cross the fence onto there property. Saw my biggest deer of my life on that state land the first year, huge mule deer. I chased that deer for a few miles ended up darn near to lake roosevelt.

I thought of doing some patrolling this year as well.  Last year I turned in guys on four wheelers and two guys that had rifles in the battleground unit (firearm restricted).  This was on some timber land. This year I went back to archery so I decided to stay home instead of dealing with the crowds.

We dug a truck trap with a back ho on our place in western WA... It ate a dudes pickup   It was there when the sheriff showed up to tow it and site him for tresspassing..

I will be pushing for just that with the landowner come Monday

You don't ask anymore cause of other hunters? I get 8 out 10 places to say yes.. you can thank Washington trespass law on people trespassing..there's no real penalty.adopt ID laws and you.will have far less violaters

Tryed to get them to dig a tank trap last year but they wanted me to install a gate to save them money

when we were in Idaho we had orange painted posts this means no hunting inevitably some numb nuts jumped out of his truck and blasted some ducks from the highway  ducks fell inside my fence and my dog happily brought them to my hand and then we all waved at the dimwits while calling the game dept

nothing happens in this state, cops get called told to leave! thats usaully it! if it somehow goes to court, its a slap, far more important issues than some guy that was hunting. ID you shoot something on marked land, take your rig and fine, possibly jail.This will make people think.

Articles in the past couple of days worth of paper say the ID Fish and Game Commissioner got a ticket for trespassing.  Guess he was helping someone with an elk.  They were on a piece that they had permission last year but it changed hands and didn't have permission with the new owner.
