In the last two seasons my boyfriend and I have picked up a 3 point with a nice 2-3 inch eyeguard (left side) and a 3 point with double 3-4 inch eyeguards (roughly) also the left side.

Anyone have my right sides on here? PM me and we'll talk.

It appears to be the same animal (perhaps) or same genes and we found these sheds about 200 feet apart but a year apart.. precise location to remain anonymous. We hiked around all day today and came across a few sets of boot prints. We canvased the area pretty thourougly so we're pretty sure someone picked up its mate.

Sorry after looking over this year's field photos I photographed a recognizable landmark so haven't gotten a photo of it in the house yet... we'll take a side by side photo and post it soon.

Are you sure that is a whitetail? Some 3 point mulies look like whitetail. I would like to see a pic of this years.

thats neet, I wouldnt give up looking just yet, those darn sheds are awful hard to find sometimes, I found one today that must have been in the woods for 10 years all chewed up, kept it anyway.

Positive its a whitetail... we know of 4 whitetail bucks in the area we found this, and the 3 point with double eyeguards from this year has about 4 inch eyeguards.

Why is it bad? Whitetails would take hold well they hide better and get big. I would enjoy to be able to go into ellensburg and harvest a trophy whitetail. Muledeer don't get very big around here for the most part because they are out in the open and they get whacked.

Because they are a more aggresive breeder and they will breed with mulies ,don't want to mess with a good gene pool!

looks like muley to me. I have killed muleys in the upper county that look like that. I killed one 3 years ago that had a double eyeguard. Also several that almost look like a cross but there racks look more white tail than muley's.

The whitetail will eat all of the muledeers winter rangeland food down low. Then the muleys will slowly get pushed up hill in winter, and suffer greatly. Kill all WT in central WA

I to think whitetailed deer need to be put into check in mule deer country. they force the muledeer out of their winter range there for damaging the muledeers success rate of making it through winter. muledeer if let grow to maturity are larger in body and antler than whitetail. this is all a generalization. yes some whitetailed deer grow amazingly huge but so do some mule deer. and I'm not saying exterminate all whitetail in washington I'm just saying i think there needs to be something done in the fish and game department to keep the whitetail in check. in muledeer country.

I agree. Whitetail need to be put in check in mule deer areas. In those areas they should make it any whitetail. I know of an aread like that with big mule deer bucks and big whitetail bucks that out smart the hunters. Works well if you ask me. If you don't manage the whitetail in these areas then they will definitely push out the mule deer herds.

Not a ton of photos yet this season! All the critters we're watching are holding onto their antlers still. Have you made it out yet?
