Because I assume your planning on hunting your bait this upcoming hunting season.  From now until June/July is wasting your time and feed in my opinion.  I don't think you will gain more deer that you wouldn't eventually have from now until then.   :twocents:

Ah, but if he's feeding to enhance antler growth and the well being of the health of the deer in his area, then feeding now or througout the year is a great idea.

Nothing wrong with fortifying the gene pool.

I say never to early. I've got my apples and mineral licks out now and will replenish as the summer goes. Then in the fall, its on.

I keep feeders in the woods year round and the deer keep on cleaning it out. I put feed in it once or twice a week. I wonder if they think it is some kind  of big black plant that just does not quit growing food. :chuckle:

Never to early  ;) get them to pattern your area and it will pay off! plus like said before get protein going into them as soon as possible, ANTLERS  :drool: although I have read that it takes a couple years for it to really start working  :dunno:

You can never go to big!  :chuckle: Actually the plan for it was in my head and when I mas done and stood it up it was over 7 feet and well, a little over kill  :chuckle: and last year I had a sow and her cubs get into it and cleaned out 250 pounds in a little over 1 day :bash: :bash:

$10 roughly for a bag of feed x 10
$100 roughly for fuel!
It adds up quick  ;)
