Come on guys, get with the show, here are some recipes;

Broiled starlings on toast
Cut the breasts in half. Lay inner side down on butter-greased broiler. Tie strip of bacon about each breast with a thread. Broil to a golden brown. Rub with oil or butter. Sprinkle with salt and pepper and a bit of parsley. Serve on buttered toast.

Roast starling
Dress starlings same as you would quail. Cover with bacon strips. Sprinkle with salt and pepper. Add a slice of onion. Place in roasting pan. Roast to a light brown. Baste with drippings to which a touch of vegetable oil has been added. Green parsley and water cress make a suitable garnish. Serve with mushroom soup. A dash of red wine won’t hurt. Serve two starlings to a person. they go good with beer.

Starling stew
Sprinkle with salt and pepper and fry in butter lightly. Dust with flour and add three slices of onion, 1 bay leaf, add a half glass of wine and water to cover. Stew slowly. When tender, set aside in a warm dish and let the stew-broth simmer to thicken. Then strain and serve.
Dang tht could be desert after I eat this Big Mac .....

Hey, don't laugh guys.... when I was a kid back in New England, an old Italian guy that my buddy worked for told me one day that if I ever got a bunch of Starlings, save them for him.  I aked what he wanted those things for, and he said; "I'll cook 'em and eat 'em.  They're a delicacy in Italy!"
They do seem to have a lot of meat on the breasts.
If it was easy, everybody would be doing it.

The more I learn about other cultures, the more I understand why our ancestors immigrated here...

It's a good thing some of the immigrants brought their "culture" with them--I know guys that would starve to death if it wasn't for Pizza!  and how about that perennial Scottish favorite, Chicken McNuggets?  :drool:

That was awesome!  Thank you for sharing that with us.  That took an incredible amount of time and effort to put that video together, and I'd like to know how he was able to film through his scope like.  He must be just looking at the LCD screen when shooting?

I've always wondered about Flickers, they gather in our yard sometimes.  We had 11 of them pecking around there one morning, but my camera was in my truck.  Now I know what they were doing!  I learned something, it's a good day.

    I just got the Benjamin 1500 Trail XP w/Nitro Piston for starling/ crow patrol.  It may be a little much for running the deer out of the garden.
