Even though I am sure you could punch threw that small grass with a heavy muzzle loader bullet. I would still have to pass myself.

I would wait. I could not take that shot with a muzzleloader....I just couldn't, I would have to wait and HOPE for a better opportunity.

I voted for not big enough. If it was a permit hunt, I'm letting him walk. Over the counter tag I still might let him walk but if I did decide to shoot and was within 40 yards I'd let him have it just below his nose.

45 yards... Definitely an OTC shooter with a ML for me.  Pass on the shot until a better opportunity comes.  He's got me in his sights as well, though... a better opportunity might not come.  My 460 gr can get there, I'm pretty sure... 45 yards is outer edge of my off-hand shooting into a 2 inch circle...  he might get a third nostril out of the deal depending on if we're talking 8 am or fading light on last day??

Went back and looked close - not going to take that offhand shot.

Pass, based on photo alone. Cannot tell how thick the grass/brush is below him. Could be a doe's head in the dark in front, never know. I would take it if I could see more hair clearly.

Shoot it. Muzzleloader bullet weights are heavier and wouldn't have any problem with "logging the grass" that's in front of the deer.

Not a good shot.  I would pass and hope for a better opportunity.
