Montana Wolf Down!
« on: October 26, 2011, 06:05:40 PM »
My co-worker here in Montana is a predator hunting fanatic and has been on a quest to call in a wolf. Well yesterday he got his wish. He was elk hunting a ridge outside of Libby. Got into some crazy fresh wolf sign and got out his Flex tone rabbit call. He said that he had not been calling for 2 minutes when he heard some limbs break in in front of him, he was in some heavy timber. He said 4 wolves were running all out right at him. He put down the closest one at 18 YDS, 30.06 to the chest, game over. The other wolves took off at the shot.
I am trying to get him to send me some pics, he doesn't want his face all over the internet, with all the wolf BS going on.
The bio said it was the largest one that has been checked in Montana so far, just over 100 lbs, said it was 3 1/2 years old and in his prime.
I saw the skull at the taxi today, pretty impressive set of teeth for sure. He is doing a full rug, and getting the skull bronzed.
I WILL TRY TO GET PICS.
