looking for a GSP stud

Hey Folks,

I'm looking for a stud for my GSP. She is 18 months now and I would like to breed her sometime over the next 6-9 months. She is a top notch hunter and family dog. I'm looking for the same. She is a bigger girl......70 lbs. and I'm looking for a good size male. No need for field trial champs....just proven good hunters with good dispositions. Here are a few pics of her. I have a three year old gsp stud, He has never been studded out. He is great on birds, his lines come from no-mars kennel in idaho, they have been breeding gsp,s for 42 years.

I'll back that, NWs pup does well and plays well with others in the field, ranges well, retrieves gets the beer ect.

How come no Field trial dogs? A fellow down near Tacoma has some very nice shorthairs and they are Champs,predominatley old school gsp bred Radbach lines which have the solid liver/ticking color paint job similar to NW-gsps Cooper.He hunts them from foot himself.My guess is that your pup there has blood running through her heartbeat of either something udoibar,or dixielands rusty or luke.Just sayin they are what you let them be,be it a big runner or a bootlicker.

No Field trial dogs because I had a bad experience with one. Got a field trial pup, she was a freak(so were the other pups) spent a bunch of time training her and finally had to give her away(bit my daughter). Well I dug into more and did a bunch of research and met a bunch of "field trial" dogs. Some were good but most were too hyper and nutty for. BTW- This is the 3rd GSP that I've had. Came to the conclusion that I like and prefer proven hunting family dogs. That is what I want to perpetuate.

Cooper is a great house dog and is great with kids, they can climb all over him and He has never shown anger to it.
He also is not aggressive with other dogs or even cats.
He is still a guard dog though but I'm pretty sure the worst thing He is going to do is bark.

Great. Sounds like a good all around dog. Has he fathered any litters?

He has not been bred at all yet so due to that I'm willing to negotiate things allot more then most would, as in if He can't figure out his part of the job.
I have a friend that breeds dogs and she has said that some male dogs can't figure it out,

Still looking for a stud dog? Check out windswept-acres-kennel.com in Bellingham Wa I just bought one of their last litter and I could not be happier. Pointed his first pheasant at 3 1/2 months. great family dog and very smart and easy to train. Not sure they stud their dogs out but they have a solid black male that is extreme. They have other studs as well. Jerry and Nellie Johnson are owners and great people. Check out the web and give them a call. The dog I got is Dude picture on the site. Good luck

Are you still looking for a stud?  Otis is an AKC  Jr. Hunter with loads of instinct. He was hunting this year with JJ's NW Bird Hunts out of Bellingham, in NE Oregon.  Huns, Quail, Pheasants and Chukars.  I can have you talk with Charles about Otis, so PM me if interested.  I have posted pictures on him before and will do again if you are still in the Market.

I have a solid Chocolate stud GSP..... He is going on 12 years old now.... He was AKC certified and all that jazz but I never renewed..... He was studded out for 5 years straight to a lady who lived down the road from me.... Off an on for two years to a few different people....  Always had a nice litter..... 5-8 pups..... I think one was 12.....  He hasn't been studded out in two years..... But some of my neibors have dogs that sure look a lot like mine and their Lab and Rot mix..... If there is one thing he knows how to do..... It's perform..... A great hunter in his prime..... Don't take him as often now... Not even close but mainly my fault.... Hard headed as ever now..... Your average GSP imo... Great family dog..... He may scare anybody with his bark but would only hurt a bird, cat, rabbit, ect......

And my GSP in his prime was consistantly 84-90 lbs..... He was a very big pup as well.... Fit but big... Now he is just big..... And not near as fit.... Not bad for a 12 year old by any means though.....
