Are summer sausage casings large enough to hand stuff?
« on: December 31, 2011, 09:20:38 AM »
Should I use my sausage stuffing attachment or are the casings large enough to throw chunks into it by hand and squeeze them down tight?

I have so many comments, none of which will be any help at all, DJ.  :chuckle: :chuckle:

:chuckle: yeah you can but it is a real pain. I have a kit that I use to stuff them that I don't have to run threw the grinder. So I do all of mine " which is 400+lbs" a year by hand.

My comments all contain the word fisting in them.. so I agree with pianoman...   :chuckle: :chuckle: :chuckle:
By my honorable conduct as a hunter let me give a good example and teach new hunters principles of honor, so that each new generation can show respect for their god, other hunters and the animals, and enjoy the dignity of the hunt.

Calling an illegal alien an 'undocumented immigrant' is like calling a drug dealer an 'unlicensed pharmacist'.

Not too hard. I've done it easily with a juice jug top and piece of dowel. Worked good for a small batch, that was ground earlier and wasn't worth getting the grinder dirty. The homemade tools were easier than hand stuffing the casing, but it can be done.
