rub for chicken? need to break in my new offset firebox smoker/bbq...

jeepster:
first of all, i feel kind of retarded asking for a chicken rub recipe on this site... but... ive never done any real bbq-ing...

i just got done assembling my new bbq, its a brinkmann duel fuel, but i have the offset firebox for doing slow cooking/smoking but ive never used a bbq like this before...

i have a big pack of drumsticks in the fridge, and i would like to find a good rub that would work with slow cooking/smoking..

i figure this would be a good way to get started... pretty hard to screw up chicken...

if you guys had an offset firebox bbq/smoker, and a pack of chicken drumsticks... what would you do?

I rarely desire anything more than E.V.O. and Johnny's on my grilled chicken.  However, when the wife starts complaining about how boring I am (quite often) I use this stuff on chicken thighs and legs.  http://www.grilling4all.com/sm8056.html

On pork ribs that stuff is like crack - one taste and you'll need a regular fix for the rest of your life.

or theres this stuff called kicken chicken by weber grill, its not a rub but it is awesome!

This is a pretty good all around rub recipe.

Rub:
1/2 cup raw sugar (Turbinado)
1/4 cup salt (I use plain)
1/4 cup brown sugar
2 tbs garlic powder
2 tbs granulated onion
2 tbs paprika
2 tbs chili powder
2 tbs black pepper
1 tbs cayenne pepper
1 tbs cumin
1 tsp nutmeg
