rub for chicken? need to break in my new offset firebox smoker/bbq...

<< < (3/3)

CP:
Works on chicken, pork, beef ...

Limhangerslayer:
Go basic
Salt pepper garlic and smoked paprika.  When they are close to done baste with siracha/honey or siracha/sweet chili sauce.  Score below the ankle and slide down all the meat to the knee and cooked knee on the grill

I like the waterfowl blend from meat eater. Or the citrus/black pepper from treager. Both have worked out fantastic for us

i just got done assembling my new bbq, its a brinkmann duel fuel, but i have the offset firebox for doing slow cooking/smoking but ive never used a bbq like this before...

i have a big pack of drumsticks in the fridge, and i would like to find a good rub that would work with slow cooking/smoking..

i figure this would be a good way to get started... pretty hard to screw up chicken...

if you guys had an offset firebox bbq/smoker, and a pack of chicken drumsticks... what would you do?

For a pack of drumsticks I would go simple, rub it down with some garlic salt and call it good.  No reason to get 15 spices out for drumsticks.

This is an old thread.

I just bought a big pack of chicken legs.
I made a pot of chicken soup and cut the rest up in to small pieces.
I have them soaki g in Zesty Itailian Dressing in the fridge.
Tomorrow i will place the cubed meat on wood shewers and cook on the grill.

Graba slice of Itailian bread and have at it.
