Caught this guy in a field we had left an hour before to check out another spot. Wife and I were coming back through the field headed toward the car when we heard him and his buddy gobbling their heads off. Set up the decoys and crawled up around the corner to see where they were. After about 15-20 minutes of calling to him he finally came around the corner in full strut headed straight for the dekes we set up 30 yrds. past us. I was trying to let my wife shoot her first bird, but I think nerves got the best of her. She finally said she didn't feel comfortable with how he was angled away from her and told me to shoot instead (BAM)
. I unfortunately for him did not hestitate and he has a new resting spot in the brine.
