Never knew we had channel cats ....I may need to come visit sometime...I love catching channel cats ...I always used liver or a couple whole nightcrawlers and shot them with air and then dipped them in Vanilla extract ....how you doing it ?

What is the air and vanilla extract all about?  :dunno: Tastes much better if you dip them in buttermilk, corn meal, and into the fryer!

I fish out there from the boat often.  With the water doing is deal right now, its kinda iffy on catching.  Once it clears back up, I have found a few holes that I sit over in the boat.  Let me know whenever you want to go and I can pick you up from shore.  I put in right by the house on the pasco side of the river and have a 1 minutes boat ride to where you are sitting on the bank...

Sounds like fun, I wish I lived closer.

Too bad I have to work this weekend or I would head down there.  I have been looking for some places around here to get after the cats again.  For bait, I have always used clams or mussels.  Just go down to your local grocery store and ask for the day old ones that they cant sell anymore.  Works awesome, and chicken livers too.  Good luck, let us know how you do.

He mentioned 5 lbs.  I'm up for a trip down there once or twice this month.  I'll send you a PM and see if we can figure out a day.  Thanks for the offer!

I love cat fishing. I use to cat fish in Lake Tapps years ago, but the property is all bought now. They would lower the lake in the winter and I would make a big bonfire in the middle of the night and cat fish. I live in western washington and all the good spots are all gone.  You are lucky that you can do that.   Good Luck!

RT, I tried to send you a PM but your box was full.  I grew up in Richland in the 70's and 80's and used to fish cats at night.  Thought we could compare notes.  Back then it was easier to get down to the Yak.
