Lots of Deer hunting right outside of town, just head out to the forest land[/quote/I you had to choose a gmu? Sherman or Okan. east
I am pretty sure we used to hunt off of Stacey rd north of town
Any direction you go from town will put you in National Forest. Deer are everywhere out there. Get out and do some exploring and you'll do just fine. If your hunting modern just watch out for all the other A holes that come over from the west side.
We hunt up around there. During archery its not too bad as we hunt on private land, but any forest service road will get you in the deer. During modern all we do is chase out trespassing peeps trying to shoot the bucks on our land. We live 8hrs from our cabin but its worth the drive to keep the hunters out. It amazes me too see how many people try and trespass and claim they didnt know it was posted, when signs are every where witgh a locked gate too lol.2 years ago people snuck in and got 2 big 5x5's muleys, our neighbor got their license plate but nothing came from that. Unsure what else we can do when the nearest police statiion is 45 mins away.
well instead of a deer blind just sit in your truck, on main street. Most deer live in city limits
Lambert Creek
Don't forget that the "locals rifle season" starts Thanksgiving week. I've has as much problem with locals as I have with wetsiders. It has gotten to the point that I does not matter where they are from, some people just don't give a crap how or where they get their deer, legally or not.
Our party has hunted the Curlew / Republic area for the last 14 years. We have been fortunate to have had the hunting rights on several thousand acres( for which we pay dearly). The people that we have had problems with aren't the west siders. It is the local people who feel that since they live there and know the land owners that it will be ok to sneak on the property. This is a common every year thing. And EVERY time we confront someone they are local. Brant

I think they took 40 deer out last year in Republic. I saw a bruiser this morning near the High School. Actually if you go to the Ferry Co. Courthouse you will find a variety of sized antlered mule deer laying on the lawn eating and sleeping.......

Apparently there is no shortage in YOUR neck of the woods.
Speaking of Republic courthouse deer...I saw this one lying in the edge of somebodies yard in the middle of town a few years back on opening day of deer season. He knew he was safe.
In the back of a pick-up with several of it's buddies?
Was he and his buddies also transferred to Chelan to be sold to the "migrant orchard workers" for $50 per pop or just taken to Keller to hang around in someone's front yard for a few days?
We have been hunting and owning property near Republic for over 10 years. I have never had issues with the locals. It seems to me that if you engage the local community they are actually nice and look out for your place. If a local wants to hunt on my land, I say let them as long as they keep everyone else out! BTW, take a look at Vulcan Mtn. this is a very busy place but at least safe from the federalist folk in the hills.

Yes but lots of land to hunt once you get past the private stuff. Good point though.Quote from: CAMPMEAT on June 12, 2012, 12:10:08 PMQuote from: brackens on June 12, 2012, 11:47:27 AMWe have been hunting and owning property near Republic for over 10 years.
