I added up all the non resident tags that were left over last year..it was millions lost for the IDFG just in tag fees..not to include what the state of ID lost in revenue from these hunters buying stuff in their state from lodging,food and gas

I have to believe most of the loss is from the wolves lowering the elk population. And just think of the land mass and numbers of elk they had compared to WA, the elk here will be devastated. I hunted unit 17 4 years ago and the backcountry is unbelieveable, but what really sucks was the very low number of elk we saw and the wolves we heard all around. That tag used to sell out very fast, it hasn't the past few years. With the wolf hunts now happening in Idaho, it will take a while but I think it will get much better.

Bigshooter- I know this is your thread and all but just to mix it up don't post in it tomorrow unless the draw happens. We got to try something new! :chuckle:

I'm sorry.  I was not going to post in this thread today.  But I just noticed that on ID's "what's new section" where you could check the results for the OIL drawing, the link is now gone.  This might mean that they are getting close.

I waited very paitently to find out I drew nothing. There's always next year. But its so far away. Guess i will be buying a OTC elk tag then.
