This is something that I've been thinking about recently. In addition to all the troubling news about gun bans, registration, confiscation and all that, there is another bit of news that is even more chilling.
The Department of Homeland Security has purchased over 7000 'Personal Defense Weapons' and over 2.6 billion rounds of ammunition recently. Add that to two military exercises with helicopters shooting blanks over the cities of Miama and Houston. And add that to the president's new litmus test for upcoming military officers that asks the question, 'would you fire on American citizens?' All this comes together and it seems like the government is ramping up preparations to crack down on its people: us.
I've been thinking about it, and I ask you this: when government operatives come to our houses and demand the turn over of all our firearms, will we honestly be able to look our loved ones and children in the eyes before we resist? Any sort of resistance to government enforcement, right or wrong, will be met with prison or death. The options won't be better than that. How many of us will be able to back our talk and fire upon law enforcement, military, or government troops? All this talk about 'Come and Get Them,' 'From My Cold Dead Hands,' and the such sure sounds tough now, but how many of us are actually willing to die for our firearms?
Even if we band together and form one of the strongest militias the world has ever seen, we will never have access to drone strikes, fighter jets, armor, and explosives (at least on the scale the military has access to) to make an effective stand against the government.
A guy I work with today made a comment that I have been thinking about. "The nail that stands up gets hammered down." That boils down to any sort of resistance we make will be met with death or imprisonment. How many of us are willing to accept that to stand up for our rights?
Just something to think about.

the law is the law as you put it prison or death.couldn't agree more.but its not just a matter of us law abiding citizens resisting them from taking our firearms isn't it also them that are trying are breaking the law by trying to do so.the military take an oath to do as they are told by there superiors and also take an oath to fight for the constitution.its not our brave soldiers that we should fear its outside forces that will try to do the deed. I M O.also everyone is always talking about a gov takeover i dought it really i do,the main reason i believe we need to be able to defend ourselves is illegals coming over the borders and gangs.gangs outnumber our military by a very large margin what will we really do when ms13,the nortenos or any of them decide to try a take over is what we should really be prepping for. IMO

If any government force shows up, I "wont have any" firearms. If push comes to shove I'll get killed resisting. No kids, no family to think of. I wont live in a land where the government goes door to door taking guns. The dream that was America will be over.
-
I think it will all depend on how it happens. If people do start resisting then more will follow. They sure are not going to go collect from the gangs and thugs first because they WILL resist. I think if it comes to it they start going around to the people whom they think are passive and will turn over their guns for fear of prison or death then they will systematically move up the chain to the ones who will resist. Less to deal with then. I don't think they will take the chance to "loose" the initative if they go after people who may put up resistance first. :twocents:
Another question is does anyone have a network of friends/family who will back you up no questions if SHTF? It would be beneficial to have that whether the Guberment comes or the gangs/zombies.
-
been trying to get a network here but feel im the only one. although havent been walking the neighborhood either. Can't really go around talking to strangers without getting the cops involved so kind of stuck. Guess if there is some kind of organised consorted resitance then ya im all in if not prolly either turn them in or tell the wife to get the f out and mom since she lives with me and the wife and go out with a bang. me too don't like what I see especially in california now. Can't even keep an ar in California if that law passes. For those that don't know Mcain is sponsoring a bill on congress to get us all to take a biometric card. Sorry have to whistle blow some even, if it's out there 666 here we come.
personally prefer them to come take them rather than us complying each and everyturn that sadens me more than the other option.

Gov take over is already here FDR started that already in the 30's This has been the writing on the wall at least since then.
Point in case is since that time both Republicans and Democrats have taken our right little by little for thier own causes.
1968 gun ctrl act I beleive was Republican sponsored if wrong then I appologise but think it was. I think LBJ was president then Or nixon so if not started by them a Republican signed it into law.
-
Very valid question. I think right now the liberals dont have enough support to get anything serious passed, and I hope i'm right on that. When the day ever comes that "mandatory" registration/confiscation (it's the same) becomes the law of the land.. (and for places like New York that day is almost here).. you better have a plan. You also had better not advertise your plan where anyone with internet access can read it.. The thing about your second amendment freedoms.. once you allow them to take it there is no going back.. if you allow them to take your weapons- there aint no getting them back. It doesnt matter if a judge hears the case and says "yeah hey they were wrong'" after they have already taken and destroyed everything you have. Once that line is crossed- war is essentially declared on you... As soon as the first raid goes down, and theres no doubt about what is going on.. would you sit and wait for the agency that just WAco'd your neighbor or brother's house to come visit yours? or would you take action?
-
I highly doubt it would be prison time ...we do not have enough prisons to hold that many disarmed Americans and if any soldier would ever turn on his fellow Americans because the government demanded them to do So then they should be shot at and killed too !!! :twocents: I guarantee if my government tried to turn me against my fellow Americans there would be an issue !
-
The more I think about it, the more I'm convinced that it would have to be a military operation. I've talked to too many cops who would not only disobey the orders, many would resist with violence. Be it on or off the job.
-
I will fight! Live Free or Die.
-
Thinking of something so far off the chart is scary but they know most Americans who own guns know how to use them ...it would have to come from the air because anyone within 500 yrds of my house is dead and anything beyond that maybe a possibility :dunno:
-
its simple say i sold them, but what i really did was saran wrap them put them in a hard shell gun case then wrap the gun case air/water tight and hide it either in a hollow tree on my property, down by thw swamp, burry them, put them in the hay barn, or into the pond. :twocents:
-
thats works for me ;)
-
If it comes to the military coming to confinscate our weapons or to arrest us be smart. Do not resist in the open. Unfortunatly we cannot overpower the military with all there hardware and assets. We need to break into small cells and resist by hitting where we can get in and get out. The special forces and special ops people know what i am refering too. Look at the resistance movements during our bloody history. I personally think that if in a resistance mode if you plan on using guns, reallistally your committing suicide. A surgical strike and retreat maybe but we don't have the firepower to stand up and battle it out toe to toe. Think about the things that you can do that you don't have to be there. Worked EOD in the service.

I wont be having my Daughter growing up without a Dad because they want to take my guns. Just saying.
-
I won't be having my kids think that their dad is a coward. Just saying.
-
It's is easy to get a gun from someone who does no how to use it! The people who resist will probably be more experienced than those coming to get them. If you knew they were coming it would be ugly.
-
:mgun:
:guns:
-
What guns? sold them,,,,,sorry didnt get a bill of sale,,, I shoot archery now...see ya :hello:
-
A coward? Thats a first.
-
In regards to the OP, drones and air strikes will be rendered useless for 2 reasons. The first being this will be very similar to Iraq and Afghanistan in the sense that they don't have a uniformed enemy. Theres no way for them to identify me from Mags. :chuckle:
And the other reason being collateral damage. When they start launching missiles and blowing up buildings and putting holes in roads the public will openly outcry and I think that anti gunners will be with them as well.
Why hasn't anyone suggested raiding this DHS facility and getting all this ammo and AR's :dunno:
-
If you dont think this site is monitored for content and evaluated, notes taken etc., then you probably think you can hide your guns too. :twocents:
-
Its not whether I think so or not, its the fact that I don't care. Let em read what they want. Why are you so scared? Speak up!
-
We as armed americans and sportsmen and women make up a MUCH larger army than the actual military. From the conversations that I've had with family members that are in the military, it sounds like the majority of service men and women would NOT follow orders to make war on American citizens anyway. As far as my guns and ammo, they can have them....one round at a time. Life free or die! To many young men and women have died to give me the right to do and say what I want in this FREE country. Part of the freedom is the right bear arms. If anyone wants them come and get 'em, but you better be better prepared and want them more than me.
-
personally I don't like the ideas of OH I lost em etc... Why because when their gone what is to be done with them?
If our not prepared to go gurilla then that was for not. If so then  but anyother thing is a waste.
I'm thinking if somethign was to come down it would be FBI, DHS, ATF, and any other Fed organization. Military maybe, but not that likely giving the resistance within their ranks we are seeing. With that said these guys would be more than hard to beat but beatable I believe, but ya lots of gurilla activity would be the key.
People dont htink this will happen, but giving what has happened in New York and what is about to happen in California I think it's very realistic. Why because Progressive Socialism is very much a globalistic ideal. The constitution is being violated daily do why does anyone think they won't violate the 4th, and 5th? With them watching us like this site, and all the 1st is expendible as well.
Agenda 21 is a UN thing and that is what is being used to take peoples land property etc... already so why wouldn't Obama sign their small arms treaty? I know I know it wont happen don't be so sure.
With all that being forwarned will go far in this.
-
Well lets see.......there's scared, there's smart, and then there's stupid. What ever happens, does not scare me, but at the same time, I'm not stupid enough to spew my intentions, good or bad, over the internet.
-
Wish I had more ammo....
-
The police and military will serve a back-up support role but the Feds. DHS FBI ETC. will be doing the actual confiscation. It sure looks bad. They are watching this site, facebook even building a huge database building to store all emails in the usa. This info could easily be used to build a gun ownership registry that was pretty good to start with. Just saying. I bow hunt. :chuckle: :chuckle:

Yeah, there is a drone over Dale's house just waiting for the order to fire :yike:

U.N. Agenda 21 is being implemented Incremental, all over the world. This movie has been shown before in history. After gun registration comes confiscation, then comes genocide. The regime purges all dissidents and threats to they state. Anyone who will not conform is called a terrorist and is eliminated. This is an old movie we have seen many times. Now its being played here in our own country.
The barb wire on the FEMA camps does face inward.
yep and from what I hear they only want a world pop at 1bill or less.
and as for being watched as long as no one actually threatens anything they can't do nothing unless they use NDAA. :bash: :dunno:

Don't be surprised with the plethra of legislation being thrown out there and from what I heard from the legislatures in California saying this is a helath and safety issue don't be surprised if surprise inspections come at some time. Who what or where who know yet but don't be surprised. OSHA maybe FEMA who knows.
-
If the swat team comes to your house.. and the family would be in the line of fire, and you smile and nod and hand over the gun you have there.. or if they come when you arent home and take the guns you have there in the house.. does anyone really think their duty to support and defend becomes any less at that point? or that their personal fight should end instead of begin there? I remember in high school seeing someone paid to beat someone else up.. who should he have gone after? Big Ed who was paid to kick his ass or the guy who sent Big Ed after him? I am not of course endorsing any particular line of action, but I am saying that a lot of the logical reason and preparation for worse case scenarios is best worked out before hand. Think about these things, and figure out who you can trust now..
-
i'd hope the wife shoots back :chuckle:
they take while i'm gone guess law abiding just shot through the roof.
Both.
:chuckle:
-
Sadly, I no longer own guns. Seeing this coming I have sold them for the amount I wanted instead of whatever the government will offer when they take them. I am returning to strictly archery.
-

AR15's are known to cause cancer in the state of California" :chuckle: :chuckle:

Guess those things will iron themselves out.
Was thinking on that too, don't think if you don't know now you probably wont then.
Actually with all i've seen coming and trying to get passed I'm beginging to think things are going to heat up worse.
-
Really though I have sworn to answer a call to arms. If it don't come to that or some other thing happens and I don't get that chance well who knows.
-
Agreed to almost all points.
When the black suits come, loading up and shooting back isn't going to lead to anything except bad news for the gun owner. It'll essentially be a choice of 'hand them over or go to prison.'
But when its reported that all the guns were either 'sold' or 'lost,' that information will be reported as Mr. X's house is clear of all firearms. Then when Mr. X's house is burglarized, and he uses a firearm to defend his family, the police will come and discover that Mr. X possessed illegal firearms, and then he'll be the one in prison. It happened in Britain to a gentleman who is still currently in prison for defending himself during a break in with a shotgun and killed the suspect.

thats whay you don't let someone stand alone on this come running prewarning can go along ways too.
-
partially true though that's why I don't like the I lost em. does nothing too.
prewarning though could go a long way and 2 or more stand together like stacks of paper has force.
one piece of paper alone does nothing but many pieces together holds.
-
I made a thread about who is our enemy. The enemy is who is actually wanting this to happen. The aiders and abetters.

This is the way I look at it. They are gonna come to my door (maybe assuming they break through the gate) and ask to come inside and I say no. They don't have a warrant cause they don't have probable cause so they don't come in. I close the door and the first person that helps themselves through my door is getting shot. Period. At that point you're the same as a burglar in my book.
-
Listen if they did come door to door there isnt alot we could do without endangering our family and such. Truth. Many will give em up to protect their kids. Many wont. The trick will be to hide em till they leave. Gorilla warfare will be most productive to our cause. Witholding our $ will be another way. If Obama signs this uN treaty I think UN can come for our guns and it supercedes our Const. rights. This would explain the weapon stockpiles DHS is gathering. HMMMM? The best thing to do will be to hide em. :twocents:

Interesting commentary on treaties.
-
I understand this. With a Liberal court in place this could easily be challenged. It is open for interpretation. Much like Obamacare.
-
I won't be surprised when the left tries to put one over on us. Even though we have protections I believe they will try to override or legislate them away for "our protection".

True but with Obama Burning the Constitution along with states doing the same NY, Califonria, and now New Jersey which I will post something on that here soon, the constitution wont stand in their way.
Don't be fooled that the constitution protects us because even though were still waiting to see what New York does on this they've already Infringed. 1968 infringed, 1934 infringed sorry but ya it did.

I've reached the point that I don't really care what the politicians do. They have already passed thousands of unenforceable laws as it is, and they think passing more will do any good? It's already against the law to drive a vehicle and talk on a cell phone at the same time, yet you see cars all over the roads with drivers yakking on cell phones! I figure when the second wave of forces see the first wave laying dead, they will see that it's not as easy as they thought, and there will be a lot of resignations. As far as DHS buying all that ammo--ALL THE MORE FOR ME! :chuckle: :chuckle:
-
It's coming rest assured.
-
I wonder if people felt this much fear right before the civil war? I believe that our Constitution is in grave danger.
-
truly it is and I wonder too prolly not since no interenet but maybe.

Trenton, NJ --(Ammoland.com)- Hours after the New Jersey Freedom Rally, with over 1000 attendees that braves pouring cold rains, ended, Anti-Gun Democrats in the Assembly announced they would hurry a package of 24 gun-control bills, most of which had previously been introduced, through the legislative process starting next week.
They hope to vote on the measures Feb. 21. 2013 while they can still capitalize on the tragedy of the Connecticut School Shooting.
Those proposals, along with other gun control measures introduced in the weeks since the Newtown, Conn., shooting, drew particular ire from the rally attendees.
The legislation identified as a priority by Democrats includes a prohibition on magazines capable of carrying more than 10 rounds and a requirement that all private gun sales – those between one individual and another – include a background check.
Democratic legislators have argued that New Jersey’s existing gun laws – which are considered some of the strictest in the country – could be tightened.

You guys are crazy paranoid. I wish I could realistically bet on this...
Really? Watch and see. If nobody stood up and said no it already would be law.
-
paranoid is when there is no truth: These things are happening as we speak.
Tons and tons of anti gun legislation is being forced upon us. Almost every day a new state comes forth with more and more stuff to fight against. Thats reality.
-
You guys are crazy paranoid. I wish I could realistically bet on this...
Really? Watch and see. If nobody stood up and said no it already would be law.
I wish you were right.
The fact is the government wants our guns. Why would they possibly want our firearms? Its not to take away our hunting ability. They want to take away the guns because without our ability to defend ourselves, the government can crush us under its boot and force whatever rule down our throat it wants...
...more than it already does...
Its already happened in this country before. Ask the Native Americans and 1940's era Japanese just how well the government can treat you.
-
exactly and once they have that the anti hunters will rejoice because they will have the initiave they need to ban that as well.
-
Obama has four years left. FOUR! He will not convince the house, the senate, the military, and law enforcement to confiscate our guns. We have the power of the vote. Let's hope Americans wake up to the liberal nut jobs and start electing someone with some conservative views.
If it did come to contiscation, the US military would not be doing it. It would be foreign military paid by the US.
-
laugh while they are trying to find them :chuckle: :chuckle:

nope if that bill to allow him more time goes through he'll get unlimited time.
Even if true since were the minority won't matter whos in it will most assuredly be a domocrat with the same Socialist agenda.
and to those that say the military and all wont do it are mistaken there are tons of sheriffs who will got many letters already from some that will enforce them. and what with the states going this route wont those same sherifs who say they wont enforce fed law enforce state law?
and come the the hunting and rights thread to check out all the states that are passing gun bans and registration and confiscation.

Individual resistors will be labeled as insane.
Bands of resistors will be labeled crazed right wing militia groups.
Gorillas will be labeled as murderers.
All will be vilified by a media who will insist that you can trade freedom for security.
Those who do not learn from history, are doomed to repeat it.

If you really want to prepare for something like this, here are some things you can do. The good news is that these are all very productive things in their own right, so in the extremely likely event that you never have to engage in a war against the government, it wasn’t a waste of time. I’m excluding things like storing a couple months’ worth of food and prescriptions and ammo because by now everyone knows we should be doing them anyway.
1) Educate yourself about internet protocol. How the internet works and how data moves from one computer to another. Download a TOR browser and learn how to minimize your ability to be tracked over the internet.
2) Invest in old fashioned maps for areas you may need to operate in. In an emergency, the satellites that supply data to consumer GPS units can be disabled. If you can find a wide format scanner to use, scan the maps in the highest resolution the scanner is capable of and convert them to PDF. These can then be digitally shared with other likeminded people.
3) Next time you are in an area that you rarely frequent, stop at a drug store and buy a pay-as-you-go cellphone with cash and never use it. These are extremely useful for a lot of things and cost very little. You can even add more minutes to the phone using kiosks and cash and they are completely untraceable. Drug dealers call them burners because you use them for awhile then throw them away and get new ones leaving anyone tracking you at square one.
4) Take lots of classes on first aid. Preventing infections and being able to set a bone could mean life over death if you were in a situation where you couldn’t go to a hospital.
5) Join social organizations like the Freemasons, Elks, or local business organizations. Build strong networks within your community that can be called on later. Try not to be “that guy who won’t shut up about the upcoming revolution.”
6) Read. Read. Read. Read books about war, sociology, medicine, history. Most of the military’s more common training manuals are available online for free. Whatever you want to do in this world, someone has already succeeded at and someone has failed at. There are likely books on both.
7) If you do join “patriot” groups, there will be undercover government agents there. They were in the 60’s, OWS, Ruby Ridge, and there is no reason to believe the government’s changed tactics. If there is a new guy who nobody knows who says “Lets blow up this building, I know where to get a bomb.” This is a government agent.
8) Most importantly, do not isolate people who don’t agree with you. They will keep you grounded. What happens is these groups reinforce their own delusions, and prevent you from getting a realistic view of the situation.

If some take the high road to make them fire first it very well could backfire on them.
