So... list the reasons you DON'T want to draw a tag this year and dare the draw gods with me...
I have an 11 year old that I have to guide this season, and I'd really like to get him on his first bear, plus he's two-for-two on deer and we'll need to work hard to keep his streak going.
Already have Idaho deer and elk tags BOUGHT AND PAID FOR. Plus I'm a school teacher and I DON"T HAVE TIME TO HUNT A GOOD TAG, since getting time off in the fall is next to impossible.
Hear that Draw Gods? I'M FINE WITH ANOTHER YEAR OF SEEING A WHOLE PAGE OF "NOT SELECTED"...
...SO BRING IT...

I really don't want to draw because I've got a few hundred hours of vacation time on the books, I've only got 3 deer tags so far this year, weapons are all shooting good, I get my knee tuned up next weekend so I'll be very fit come fall, I've saved up too much gas money over the winter and spring.

I still have half a freezer full of moose and mule deer meat. I got drawn for Montana and will probably have a doe permit too. Plus, I'M GOING TO BE THE KING OF THE LOSER LOUNGE!

I can't think of any reasons that I don't want to draw, and I don't want to lie. So I'll have to use a different strategy and ask the draw gods to let me draw more than one special permit this year. How about a bull moose permit and a quality deer or elk permit? I turned 50 this year, so let's just call it a late 50th birthday present. Also I haven't drawn anything since the bighorn tag in 2014, so I'm definitely due. It's been 13 years since I've drawn Quality elk. :o50! :yike: :yike: :yike:

Yep it is 😜!Been keeping track since 2000 the year I got drawn for a bull tag. We hunt the same areas every year and the odd years we definitely see a lot more Elk. Looking through pictures of my dad grandpa and uncles the majority of all the Elk shot and killed by our camp were in odd numbered years from the mid 1970’s to current.We see more Elk during odd years than we do even years. So I’m sure we will get drawn this year.That's odd.

2. This year is looking like a dry one. Likely to be a lot of fire danger shutdowns of timber land. Definitely be a bad year to draw anything.
3. Planning on going to New Zealand next spring so no need to do much hunting this fall.
Okay drawing odds gods; I'm not only double dog daring you to give me anything special this year but I'm also bent over with my pants around my ankles and I'm giving you the biggest "moon" you've every seen.

I crunched the numbers on my chances of drawing...they’re horrible. Then I applied with a buddy to make them even worse!!!

Vacation is blocked out during November and December at my job, I really have no business putting in for any "B" moose tags...but I did anyway. ;)
I taunted the draw gods for "B" moose tag, ended up with "Buck" tag. Not too shabby. Hope it works next year too!
