I am almost one week into the Nurtisystem diet, already dropped 10 pounds!! :) I am walking 3 miles almost every day at this point. Next week I am going to start biking in to work as well. What are you doing to get ready for elk season?
-
I just started riding my bike every moring so far I'm doing 16 miles monday to friday and 4 mile hikes on the weekend. I've got some longer hikes planned too. I'm down 6# so far I'd like to knock off 10 more by september
-
Made a list of every elk encounter I can remember in the areas I plan to hunt (where I called from, where they answered from, time of day, wind at the time, and end result (either shot or escape route)). Then I looked the areas over for the 10,000th time on Google Earth and Nat. Geog. Topo maps to see what else I missed about the areas; I learn something new every time, too (things like feeding vs. bedding areas vs. travel routes, why the wind that day was wrong for what I was trying to get the bull to do, how to come at the bull from a completely different direction, etc.). Now I'm on to listing various access methods based on wind and listing stand/setup sites for various winds/thermals and what trails need cut when I go up in June and July. Also trying to figure out where to put the trail camera from June when I go to cut trails until September when I go to hunt.
I'm trying to narrow down my areas to about 3 or 4 perfect spots depending on the winds and time of the rut that will produce year in and year out. In other words....luck doesn't happen: it's a collision of preparation and opportunity.
-
I'm continuing to lift, run, and hit the versa climber 5-6 times a week. I also started training for the upcoming warrior dash which the location for the Northwest has not been published yet.I figure if I can complete it I can handle any hunt situation I might encounter this year. If anyone is up for a challenge then look up warrior dash.Good luck and train smart.

Starting a biggest loser with some buddies on Sunday and getting on the walking/hiking regimen.
Just submitted my permit hunt applications and doble checked with the manager of the property we access in New Mexico to confirm our hunt there.
Winter weight got totally out of hand this year, I have my work cut out for me.

I am doing nothing :'(......haven't been to the gym in well over a month ever since I started a job and a new school quarter and just cannot get myself back on track..... still walking every so often and try to fit in a few hundred crunches a day other than that I am not doing much of anything :bash: :bash: as soon as school is done for summer I hope to get back into the woods more or the gym.....

i am going to jump on that band wagon as well soon.

i get to work up in Stehekin for a couple weeks :) I've always wanted to do the Sept hunt but I archery hunt for elk and I'm going to Montana this year so i wont have time. My job will be based out of Lake Roosevelt where allot of my Buddy's live and hunt. my best friend has permission on some property with allot of bear so hopefully ill take my fist bear this August!! :IBCOOL: But I cant wait for elk season!!! So Stoked!! :archer:

I am taking the looooooong route in preparation for chasing ELK this fall. I've had back problems for several years and have been bone on bone in my left knee since the 80's. Got 5 lumbar vertebrae fused in Feb and am having the knee replacement surgery next Monday the 17th.
I've been doing a lot of walking but have been restricted for 3 months from anything that might loosen the bone grafts- lifting, twisting, bending .... I have 6 weeks of rehab PT scheduled for the knee and a month or so additional to finish up getting ready for Colorado ELK camp at 8500'. Assuming the unit draw comes through. ;)
I'll be out somewhere in any case. 8)

spraying exotic plants below the park service 1310 line?
-
Ive been working out prety much everyday. Been running a lot, preping for the Seattle marathon im at 18 miles working to 26 miles. Im not a fast runner 9 min/mile. I ve been running hills and backpaking like crazy just in case I get drawn for my dream hunt (Bighorn sheep of Umtanum). Training hard so I can hunt hard.

not sure, i haven't started yet. maybe :dunno: why do you ask??
-
Just curious - The park service owns all the land below the 1310' elevation line. Full pool to the lake is 1290' on the lake, so I was assuming that you be spraying noxious weeds for the park service that are below the 1310' line as to protect from infestion of milfoil and other types of weeds that take over. Just trying to think of what else the Park service owns at lake roosevelt other than the couple of marinas and campgrounds?
-
We are just based there and do some work there. we also can go as far as Oregon and Idaho. Ive been told that we'll be at Stehekin, North Cascades, Ross Lake, Lake Roosevelt, and maybe Nez Pearce Idaho.. That's all i know for now other than its 8 days on and 6 days off.
-
one can have a lot of fun in 6 days off.
-
Oh yes, hunting, fishing, and i guess i'll have to visit my girl friend to :chuckle:
-
im never not hiking through the woods so im always ready
-
took a nap,and dreamed of bears chasing me.woke up in a sweat..Im bushed..I do as much as I can..Really need to get on my bike
-
For me its the opposite.I spend 4-6 hours a week boxing kickboxing and muay thai.On the weekends I get out and hike logging roads a few days a month. From Aug-Nov I skip the gym and hunt with my free time which leaves me feeling out off shape when I go back.

Cross fits an awsome workout. It kicked my ass the couple times Ive done it.

was hitting the gym 3 or 4 times a week.. been on the lazy bench for 3 weeks.. need to get my but up and movin. shouldve been doing it 2 days ago since i started my unemployment... however been gettin up at 4something in the morning last couple days for some odd reason :dunno: maybe its a sign to hit the gym when its open at 430.
-
Im not doing anything, going to road hunt the little naches and wait for one of the thousands of hunters to push an elk across the road :4w:
-
P90X!!!
-
I'm throwing my back out as usual getting my house and yard ready for summer. If i'm successful, I will recover with 3 weeks left to get in shape.

Running 80 to 95 miles per month. Completed my first half marathon in Vancouver, BC two weeks ago, going through my gear and figuring out what I can do to make it lighter, and getting the bow ready. I even sent my pack in for repairs. Now I just need to draw a tag!

Ive already planned out my MT goat hunt.. 9 miles in.. 10k feet up there I figured I better get in shape.

Try to keep in decent shape year round so I don't have to play last minute catch-up!
-
Gym minimum 6 days a week, cardio and lift. biking 3-4 days a week. Shooting bow 5 days a week, and just bought a new Hoyt! hope it works as well as the last one.
-
Going TDY for 3 months. Hoping like hell all you hard core's stay outta my spot and leave a bull for me and the ol' lady to kill on one of the four days that's left in the season when I get back! >:( :archery_smiley:

Fred, I am with you on that. I am down about 15 with 60-70 to go. I get stuck everytime between 245 -255. I am hoping to plow right through that range this time. I have a little more will power this year. Bear hunting this time of year helps as well.

I just did 4 miles at lunch time today, got a blister from Tuesday's walk that was screaming today, but did it 6 minutes faster than Tuesday's 4 miles.
-
I am in my third week of a Body for Life style program. I've dropped 9 pounds. The big thing for me was giving up soda, I'd drink a ton of Coke.
-
Ive been shooting my bow 4-5 days a week and starting to break my legs in a little with some hiking. My loop is 3.5 miles with 1000' climb.
-
For me, it's been the P90X program to get ready for the season. Not only that but hittin the trails with my mt bike. Of course slinging arrows, which I need to do way more of. I've got a Nevada high country mule deer hunt for the '11 season that I'm getting into shape for too.
-
just started my diet today
man am i hungery  :chuckle:
-
Aside from getting in shape and dialing the bow in I have been bugling in the car to and from work - Sometimes I actually record myself so I can hear how bad I REALLY sound. I have been thru 17 mouth reeds since december.

Joined a gym, YMCA in Sammamish, just need to go more often. changed the diet and am down 10 pounds. Need to drop another 25 to feel good out there.
Anyone in the area looking to work out and need someone to keep them motivated pm me. I could use the help as well.
After leaving the Army some 10 years ago my exercise level really dropped.
-
Started the biggest loser with 5 friends yesterday. All weighed in and laid $100 on the barrel, winner take all.
Good bye candy bars, ice cream and most of the booze (maybe one drink on the weekend), guess I have to admit to those vices all being not too big a loss.
Tomorrow starts the treadmill and some weights.
Man, next year I'm not doing the winter weight yo yo
-
Ordered a new backpack yesterday and started getting the gear ready. Also put my 3 month old daughter in the BOB and went for a father/daughter run.
-
Did 15 miles on the bike this am...one wet son of a bitch..shoes were full of water when I got home... :puke:
-
I ate a maple bar.
-
mmmmm..... maple bar
-
11.5 miles on saturday on the bike, 8.2 miles last night on the bike, gonna try and stick to it every other day...willpower willpower willpower.......definitely my biggest challenge, well that and maple bars.
a steep uphill walk for a couple hours friday morning, working on the diet big time with the wife. Gonna try and stick to a good hike a week this year...maybe see how many times I can make it to the top of Mt. Si this summer.
I realized this morning I need to kick the bagel and cream cheese every morning habit...being a former new yorker, it's gonna be harder than kicking the cigarette habit was 3 years ago I think.
:chuckle:

I'm doing 4.2 miles every other day right now. In about a week or so I will add a small back pack and increase a mile. I have NOT cheated once in 10 days on the Nutrisystem (that is REALLY good for me!!). I've dropped at least 14 pounds so far, I have not weighed in since Friday, but my waist has already lost an inch and a half!! :IBCOOL: :IBCOOL: LONG way to go but I am soooo determined!!

That is awesome Fred. If you need more challenge - try adding a trailer and weight that way. It works good for short bike rides, as backpacks aren't horribly comfortable when riding bikes.
-
I'm hunting Taliban everyday in 100 degree heat. Besides that I'm doing crossfit 3 days a week and lifting wieghts. I'm making sure that if I fall short this year it won't be because I'm out of shape.

I'm not on the bike yet, I'm doing the 4.2 miles walking at as fast a pace as I can handle. Actually I'm going to ride my bike to work Thursday and maybe Friday. :)

Nope, not lame at all, thanks for the support!!!

I've still got 25 weeks till elk season so I haven't begun my "program" yet. And I don't have plans to start anytime soon. I think I'll plan on using grouse season in September to get ready for elk season in November.
-
I found a steep hill that I can run at the mid point of my bike rides.... :(
-
Shooting the bow just about everyday. I dont think my TV channel has changed from the outdoor channel in about 3 weeks.
:IBCOOL:
-
Not sure really at this point, i might take the year off from the woods.
Getting tired of hunting alone.
Still riding the bike and treadmill.
Kinda in a funk lately...

Training for the Grey Rock Ultra on July 10th it is a 32 mile ultra w/ 6,000 feet of elevation gain on trails in the mountains west of Yakima, I ran the Yakima River Canyon marathon in 3:28, and am doing a lot of misc. Cross Fit/P90X crap that seems like a bunch of high speed yoga for chicks, but it kicks your ass and is no joke. I have been trail running Manastash Ridge (a 1600' 2 mile trail) several times a week, sometimes 2 times a pop for 3,000 feet of gain. I have never trained this hard for elk hunting before. 2 years ago I thought I was in good shape, what a joke I was. If I wasn't myself I would say I am an fn lunatic now. Ok... I am an fn lunatic. And a schizophrenic apparently?
Diet wise, no refined sugars, very little bread, and whiskey instead of beer seems to help you lean up.
Get rid of your sweetened coffee creamer if you can, no jam, no "kids" peanut butter, no jam or jelly, NO white breads, no fatty meats like bacon or sausage, NO mayonaise, no fries, burgers have to be elk or deer, and apparently not much fun either after reading that. I sound like a flippin' diet Nazi. The UPSIDE, you can eat anything you want as much as you want as long as it is a real food without additives like butter, bbq sauce, or ketchup (too much sugar). Meat, vegetable, fruit. Eat all you want.
-
OK. Last year at this time I was getting over ankle surgery for a broken fibula. Now I'm getting over more surgery on the same ankle to fix all the soft tissue damage from last year and a whole the surgeon found in my ankle joint. Six weeks non weight bearing and then therapy again. I made it out last year and should have had a bull but just missed him. I plan on being able to go where I want to this year!
I have a new string to put on my bow and will start shooting next month...
So practicing calling is about all I can do for now which I'm getting pretty good at if I don't say so myself :IBCOOL:
Good Luck everyone!!!

I would love to do a 50k but have a hard time fitting in training for anything more than a half marathon right now. How many miles will you stretch yourself out to before the race?

I will do a handful of 20 milers, not that many. I think the biggest mistake people (myself mainly) is trying to rely on pavement mileage. You absolutely HAVE to run 4-6 days per week of 3-5 miles a day simply to toughen and train the ligaments and tendons in your feet and knees. I was running a lot more mileage but always seemed to come down with nagging injuries. I started cutting back the mileage a litte, and I do ton of trail running now with a lot of elevation gain combined with pushups, abs, pull ups, bunny hops, lunges, empty squats (high rep, no weight), and I think my legs are in better shape than when I was doing higher mileage. You can turn a 3 mile run into the equivalent of a 6 miler pretty fast by doing a bunch of sets up push ups, squats, and lunges in the middle. I think it is better to do "lifting" type stuff prior to cardio work though if I remember correctly. I seem to remember a guru stating that somewhere.
Truthfully, another thing that is helping me is doing the P90X - YogaX That has cut down my injuries and my stride feels a lot faster and smoother. I have only done it a few times but I can already tell that I am moving better on the mountain near my house.

You pretty much summed it up right there. You said what I know I need to do but haven't yet. P90X is a great program.
-
My job is a workout in itself but turkey hunting will get me through till June and then coyote hunting will give me a good hike a few times a week. pretty pissed about this year though, I made the leap and bought a west side archery permit so I could chase some rutting bulls and I go and tear a ligament in my right wrist so on June 3rd I have ligament reconstruction surgery which will put me out of commission for 3 months :bash: So no bow hunting elk for me this year I gotta trade my tag back in for a muzzleloader tag. upside though is I can shoot my yote gun with my left hand and I can't work for 3 months so me and the dogs are gonna hike every mountain trail on white then jump over to chinook and do the same.

Ok, I thought I'd post an update. I'm down 11 pounds now into the middle of my fourth week. I've been religiously bringing my meals with me to work everyday instead of eating out, been eating 5-6 meals a day, and doing cardio every other day. I've been slacking on my weight training but I start that tonight right after I log off Huntwa. I bought a Weider home gym from a coworker for a hundred bucks. Oh, and I also still haven't touched a soda since I started!

Just like crossfit itself... Follow the WOD or weed through the stuff you want for "Sports Specific" training... Think they say to only do their higher capacity work outs 3-4 times a week...
I followed it for a bit, and got down in the low 11 min 2 mile range, and low 18 min 3 mile range.... And then I got the blasted shin splits... Good Stuff, If you ever get access to a row machine, try one of their rowing work outs... INTENSE!
They have a reference chart on the lower left hand side of the screen to see what the various abbreviations mean....

I would like to switch to an eliptical, but I can't right now. Because I am in the Army, I HAVE to run to pass the bi-yearly test. And I am not one of those guys that can just run a couple of weeks before the test and get away with it. If I don't run 3-5 times a week, I am screwed. I can retire in another year, then running can go to hell, and I will switch to the eliptical...

running 2-3 miles a day on the treadmill, weights and 125 crunches, 3-5 times per week (depending on my work schedule).
$#@!^ shin splints are killin' me! :bash: :bash:
that was happening to me .....shin splints can become crippling...I found better shoes and switching to the elliptical machine solved it mostly..........I
I would like to switch to an eliptical, but I can't right now. Because I am in the Army, I HAVE to run to pass the bi-yearly test. And I am not one of those guys that can just run a couple of weeks before the test and get away with it. If I don't run 3-5 times a week, I am screwed. I can retire in another year, then running can go to hell, and I will switch to the eliptical...
that stinks.......and I would never make it shin splints for me get so bad I can no longer walk let alone run......I am really not supposed to run at all my surgeon told me it was a bad idea.....right now I am doing little to nothing other than sitting on my butt at a computer by day and standing at a cash register by night.....not everyone is meant to be an athlete....
-
In my opinion the Elliptical is one of the most useless cardio machines on the market. The only time I would think about using one is if all other types of cardio machines hurt my body or I was using it for a brief rehab.
-
my wife used an elliptical for a while and we still have it. She got bad shin splints from running on the pavement or our treadmill. The eliptical helps a lot. Not sure why you think it's useless...that thing will kick your ass if you let it or try hard enough. I use it occasionally.
WDFW-SUX and I did an 8 mile round tripper today...it was a great walk.
-
i am down 5 pounds so far :IBCOOL: the first 20 are always the easy ones for me :chuckle:
-
Down 17 pounds in 15 days. :IBCOOL:
-
good work guys
-
Well can't hunt for elk for another couple of years. But what I can do is a few different broadheads on wildhogs to see which penetrates the best and which one is most durable for big game like elk. My two picks are the G5 Striker and the Shuttle T-Loc. Can't wait.

If I get on the elliptical I do legs only and have to crank that thing up and go forever. It is a great machine for Women!!!!!!!!!If you want a workout then hop your butt on a versa climber and then come talk with me.Good luck.

Well, to be fair... it wasn't his fault. I was being lazy and sitting on a 5 gallon bucket while he pitched. It was a good pitch, I missed it.
-
Today is the beginning of my fifth week. I'm down 13 lbs at this point. I'm feeling great and still haven't touched a soda in this time. I too have been using an elliptical trainer at home, but hey it works for me at this point until I get into better shape.

The 5 gallon bucket makes more sense. I didn't see your old Infantry knees being able to squat like a catcher for longer than about .5 seconds :chuckle:

getting some trigger time hopefully
-
Been doing a mix of P90X and Insanity for the past few months, I like them they are easy to do at home. Once the weather gets a little better I will start doing 25 mile bike rides also, do them in about an hour and a half. Back is to screwed up to run. Looking forward to season getting here, need to start shooting my bow everyday also.
-
How is Insanity working for ya? I've been considering getting it.
-
Insanity is great, hardcore cardio that can easily be done at home. First time I did it my heart rate hit 160 at the end of the warm up and I was in decent shape at that point after doing a couple rounds of P90X. Even after doing it since the first of the year and having a resting heart rate of 45 I still average around 130 during these workouts and sometimes higher. I really like doing the mix of both Insanity and P90X just to get a little more strength training in. Recomend it big time.
-
Thanks, it looks like a killer cardio.

-
Well I started the year off with my New years Resolution to not eat any more candy. I noticed I kept getting really shaky, and almost like a dizzy feeling because I ate so much candy. SO I cut it off completely. :'( I lost 10 lbs the first 2 months and felt really good. About the time I drew out for Bear, i slipped off the candy wagon and started eating it again. :( I'm back up to where i began, if not more. My wife says I'm really FAT now. I did hike a ton up on the Bear hunt which felt good, and I am playing indoor soccer 2 times a week. I am going to cut the candy out again, and get back on the wagon...Just as soon as I finish this bag of Twizzlers, and snickers bars, and my M&M's. Then I will get back to LOOSING WEIGHT. :chuckle: :chuckle: No I'm Serious. I will!!!

-
Just started getting back in shape a couple weeks ago, plan on really stepping it up in the next week. I have been popping in my hunting videos and been running 2 miles every day on the treadmill and also been lifting weights. By Sept I should be in kick @ss shape. Today I'm gonna hit up the archery ranges walk through course with about a 30-40lbs in my pack. Also started a diet....can't wait for hunting season.
-
Met with the back surgeon and he is pleased with my results- bone grafts are slolid and all screws tight.
follow up Physical Therapy for the knee replacement is going on week 4- Three times per week PT for 2 hours + each is paying off. Strength and more important range of motion is improving.
I weighed 196 this AM- haven't seen that since the early 80's but a lot of the loss is muscle mass so we working on the ' we can make him stronger' equation. ;)
Staying optimistic and drew my CO ELK tag for archery in mid Sep. Right now thinking about stepping over deadfalls is foreboding as I just got back to walking two miles earlier this week.
-
Ok I'm nearing the end of week 7 and down 19 pounds now. :IBCOOL:

I gotta admit, I treated myself to a Big Mac combo with fries and an iced tea yesterday (still haven't touched a soda since I started). I gotta yell ya it was the best damn Big Mac I've ever eaten! :chuckle:

Actually I am eating between 1400 and 1500 calories a day, I am never hungry. I'm telling you if you follow the Nutrisystem diet the weight falls off. I just dropped below 100 pounds to go so I will be cutting out two carbs and a fruit and eating about 1200 to 1300 calories a day. I love this diet, it is so easy to follow and the food tastes really good. My wife is on it and she's lost 14+ pounds.
-
Machias, Is the nutrisysem diet expensive for the meals or pretty fair? Sounds like it works good and i may try it one of these days. Thanks
-
It costs me $279 for 28 days, I still have to buy my fruit and veggies, which I spend about $14 or so a week. I'm actually saving money though because I don't eat out anymore. My third shipment comes next week. For the ease and the results it's well worth the money. If your going to cheat on the diet I would say might not be such a good deal.
One of the things it really has shown me is portion control. My daily fat intake is supposed to be along the lines of one teaspoon of peanut butter or 10 peanuts. :yike: I used to eat a bag of chocolate covered peanuts for snack!!! My nemisis is chocolate, but I get two deserts a day and the Nutrisystem chocolates are excellent, no choc cravings!! So far the only thing I really miss is fried chicken...but the results are really pretty amazing and LOTS of people are walking up going holy chit man how much weight have you dropped! :IBCOOL:
-
Thats awesome!
-
Wow Fred!!! I thought I was doing great dropping 25 in 8 months .... I need to get tougher now that the surgery recoveries are wrapping up. Long hikes, bike rides and hills in my future. :)
-
Way to go Fred! You are kickin ass and takin names. Now if I can get this bow in your hands so you can get to shooting the dam thing and get some arrows tuned for it....
Things are crap on my front.... I not only broke my toe 2 weeks ago, I took a nice little nose dive off my bike a week ago and my right shoulder is F'd up.... I am pretty worried, gonna give it a few more days to see if it starts to improve, then it'll be off to the ortho to see what is going on!?! I am not optimistic. :dunno:
Congrats to you though....man... imagine how easy the hills are going to be for you this year.

there are two things i tend to respect in a person above almost anything else, when someone quits smoking and when someone decides to drop weight and get in shape. way to go chias. keep it up.
-
wow! 40 pounds in 40 days, that is very impressive
As far as me, I have just been shooting my recurve, trying to get my groups as tight as possible.
As far as conditioning goes, I am already in pretty good shape coming off this last track and field season, but I lift weights three days a week just to stay strong.
As far as planning, I am just looking at maps, maps, and more maps. Hopefully ill be up scouting here pretty soon.
-
11 Weeks to go now. Reading some of your post congrats on dropping them lbs! I've been shooting my rifle, making sure I can trust my equipment! And now I need to re sight-in for my rear sight fell off >:(. I've been doing as much carto as i can and hitting the StairMaster for at least 20 minuets 4x per week. I just made my first scouting trip today with is much much later than my norm, but I did see some good things...42 elk!! :)
Happy hunting guys!
-
I ran the Grey Rock Ultra 50k today in the Autanumn - 2nd Place! 6000 feet of elevation gain/loss on tough trails. 5 hours and 26 minutes, the course topped out at about 6,200 feet. It was rough, very rocky trails. I am in some pain, but it makes traveling 5-10 miles feel like a snap. 58 days till elk season by my count.
-
:o Wow! Nice job!
-
Started working out a little harder. Not to bad of shape. Loosing a few pounds. Ordered maps and talking to some people that have more knowledge of the area. Going on a scouting trip this weekend.
-
down 30 soild pounds now :IBCOOL: feel great :IBCOOL: about 45 days in

flyguide - very impressive.
Fred - outstanding
carpsniper - also outstanding.
Me - relapsed - hitting a stumbling block and put a few pounds back on. Although - no beer for two weeks and sticking to the diet should get me back on track.
-
I'm shooting my bow daily and have been scouting the last two weekends. I have found afew spots with goow traffic looking forward to the up coming season.
-
thanks whacker. i can't say i have not had a few treats along the way  :chuckle: but my diet is a bit diffrent then most. it is a home made style of atkins diet that i have made up myself. if i was not sitting in a tractor so much and could be out yote hunting or scouting i would be losing more but am happy what i have done and want to get to 50lbs down then i will be very very happy. keep at it bud and you will be sprinting up those hills this fall :IBCOOL:

you obviously haven't seen me spring :chuckle:
my diet consists of losing 5 lbs monday through friday and putting 4 - 4 1/2 lbs back on during a weekend. But I am staying home this weekend and will be without beer, so we will see if I can make it without putting the weight back on.
-
Walked about 5 miles in the Blues this weekend doing mountaineering with my National Guard unit. Good exercise, good training, but didn't find any sheds :(
-
The weight is starting to fall off me. Working out five days a week and feeling better. Another 15 and I will be ready to rock and roll.
-
It's crazy what we will put our selves through just to chase an elk up a mountain. So far this year I have hiked about 110 miles about 70 of those were with my daughter on my back. just bought a mountain bike a couple weeks ago and already got about 90 miles on it. been playing basketball 2 nights a week and hitting the weights about 2 nights a week and the whole time I've had only one thing on my mind............................. september
-
WOW Fred!!! 61 #--Youre gonna have to carry picture ID with you.... ;)
I'm hanging around 192 but much stronger, PT twice a week for two hours + now and increasing weights and reps. the knee is pretty strong and pain free during the day, still aches at night as does the back fusion. Lifted a a 60 # sack of Quickcrete last week and I was reminded i had not lifted much for 5 months.
-
Well it took me a long time to go from 250 to 245, but I hit it this morning. Next target 240.
That makes 25 lbs since the end of winter.
-
I'm down 68 pounds in 83 days. The weight loss has slowed a little lately, but still coming down. My clothes are just hanging off me, time for a new set this weekend. I have done 124 miles so far in July and only need 6 more for my goal of 130. I have started adding in some narly hills and I am beginning to really climb those well. 2 more pounds and I hit halfway, 70 down and 70 to go. Damn I feel so much better! I will never let myself go like that again...ever!
-
Nice work Machias, most people don't know how hard it is to lose 70 pounds so fast, congrats!
-
39 days!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
-
i am stuck at about 30-32 lbs i had to have a few treats  :chuckle:
