County Sheriff: Power To Protect
« on: January 28, 2013, 10:43:28 PM »
Sheriffs accross the country are taking a stand against the obvious intentions to violate the rights and freedoms guaranteed to us by our U.S. Constitution and Bill of Rights.

The Western Sheriff's Association is the group/organization that western sheriff's really use to go against the federal govt. WA's rep is the Skamania County Sheriff. He has written several letters on behalf of the group to try and reduce law enforcement authority of federal land management agencies. I don't know how many WA Sheriff's are in this organization, all I ever hear about is the Skamania Sheriff

Should we be asking our county Sheriffs in Washington State what their positions are on protecting our rights and freedoms guaranteed by the U.S. Constitution and Bill of Rights, and the Washington State Constitution?  Will they stand by their oath of office to support the Constitution of the United States and laws of the State of Washington?

We saw the ludicrous laws passed in New York.  We also know what the President and his Administration are pushing.  Many anti-gun Washington State Representatives and anti-gun Representatives around the country have jumped onto the emotional bandwagon born from a horrific tragedy caused by a madman.  It appears these people could care less about trashing our rights and freedoms, or truly creating a safe environment for our children.  Their only goals are to advance their anti-gun agendas.

Personally, I believe our local law enforcement officials need to send a very clear message to our Federal government and some of our overzealous state Representatives that they will stand by their oath of office and support the Constitution of the United States and laws of the State of Washington which clearly states that the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed.

It was on the Salt Lake news all last week how 28 of 29 sherriffs in Utah all signed a letter to Obama supporting the 2nd Amendment.
