Two Bucks and One Yote
« on: October 18, 2008, 10:27:12 PM »
Hello All,

Attached are pictures from our deer hunting trip in Eastern WA.

The smaller 4x3 was taken by my twin brother Andrew (Norriski) with one shot from his .270 Weatherby mag from about 160 yards.  The buck was bedded in some rocks off the road.  We parked the truck and made a stalk on him around a small rock bluff.  He was still there when we arrived, but stood up to leave as we made ourselves visible.  Well you know the rest..

The larger 4x3 was taken by me (Norriski2) with one shot from my .300WSM from about 135 yards.  My brother spotted him laying down about 400 yards away.  I put a stalk on him as my brother gave me hand signals from a distance.  Unfortunately, after about 30 minutes of using the terrain in my favor the buck got interested in some does and decided to check them out.  My brother and I watched the canyon he went into after the does and he did not come out.  As we approached the canyon he was standing on the opposite side minding his own business.  One shot from my shooting sticks finished the job.

The coyote was just some extracurricular activity.  Poor guy couldn't out run the .300WSM

O-ring  :chuckle: Ya he was running away from me and I was not going to shoot him, but I had a flash back of when I was child.  A pack of coyotes killed my beagle puppy when I was young (true story), so he had to pay the price for the indiscretions of his species  :chuckle:
