Montana Region 7 Deer Hunting Partner Request
« on: August 26, 2013, 11:45:38 PM »
I am planning on hunting southeast Montana this fall for deer and was looking for a hunting partner.  I can go archery hunting in September and early October or my preference would be to hunt modern rifle in late October or November.  I have hunted Montana for deer and antelope years before and have wanted to go back for a long time.  Anyhow I have lived and hunted in Washington all my life and I am trying to plan a quality hunt out out of state.  I lost my life long hunting partner last December and so I would like to make some new friends.   Thank You

The SE is predominately private, do you have access to private or are you planning on looking for public land?
The things that come to those who wait, may be the things left by those who got there first!

I am working on getting access on private land through the Montana block management program.  I am impressed how the Montana FWP has worked with landowners to provide access for hunters.  With the research that I have done I have found land to hunt and yes most of that part of the state is private land.

Haven't been on here a while so I don't know if this has been covered, but the whitetail are dropping dead like flies here right at the moment from EHD. I have heard FWP say if we don't get a frost soon we may loose 90% of our whitetail population. FYI plan accordingly. Check with locals where you hunt if you're not hunting Mule Deer.
