Deer Growth
« on: May 18, 2014, 02:24:33 AM »
Recently i looked out my back porch and saw a button buck, followed by another blacktail that i could already legally identify as a two point with eye guards. It had eye guards, and a main beam 4 or 5 inches that already had an 2 inches of its second fork! I thought it was too early for this kind of great growth but apparently i was wrong! :chuckle: How's everyone's local "Deer groups" antler growth so far?

I've been seeing 5 or 6 inches of growth on blacktails so far.

I was out cruising the woods on saturday and seen different ranges of growth. west side i seen 3 bucks all had 10-12 inch main beams with forks alraedy starting, biggest was already a 3 point with eye gaurds. Muleys on the eastside seemed to have less growth right now, seen 2 bucks that had about 6 inches of growth. They could have been younger budks though.

I saw 7 bucks this weekend. Growth ranged from 2 inches to the biggest I saw that was already outside his ears and starting to split with 3 inch eye guards. I think I'll try to keep my eye on him all summer... easier said then done. This was on the east side.  Also saw a bull that had good growth already.
