I'm excited every year to get on elk in the rut. Whether it's archery or muzzy. But by the end of the seasons I feel like I just sat through a musical listening to the goose flute callers out there.  :chuckle:
I'm starting to prefer non rut elk hunting.

When muzzy is a little earlier, it seems to be a bigger deal (like starting on the 1st).  This year being the 5th, might make it a little less effective.

Yeah, you're right.  I just got used to thinking 5th since I'm headed out there on that day.  A few years ago I want to say it started on the 1st and a bunch of guys had half the camps with archery and half with muzzy, so they could clean up anything their buddies missed.  That entire gap between seasons had trucks driving along bugling out the windows non-stop.

Oh boy! Ya the elk are usually pretty educated during archery.  Every one with their primos bugles lmao
