Last Hurrah!
« on: November 02, 2019, 06:00:49 AM »
The early season has left me broken and discouraged, but I’m climbing back in the saddle again with a new resolve and focus on actually bringing home an animal this season. I told my dad I was going into the woods and not coming back without an animal and he told me to “ have fun on your so called hunt”. I’d really like to make my family proud and I’ve realized my commitment has not been enough and I need help! I’m going all in on the late season and ready to camp out until I can come home with something deserving of a pat on the bum... I’m looking for any hunting partners for the late season for deer/elk. I’m going to focus on mount Spokane/huckleberry public lands and the Ryderwood area for elk. I’m basing these locations on the #s for the previous year. Living in Whatcom county is nice, but every time I went out I saw nothing until I drove home to see massive bucks grazing at the Fairhaven middle school o_o. If anyone is interested in joining the quest to make their families proud please let me know. I’m ready to do whatever it takes to fill this tag and I’m not going to let the early season blues sink me! I will prevail!  :dunno:

I feel your pain for sure.  I only saw a couple does rifle season.  Sorry to hear that you're not getting the support you need at home.  Use it to fuel the fire and prove 'em all wrong.

I will probably be sticking close to home late season.  Snohomish county.  Best of luck to you.  Go fill your tag.

"...I’m going to focus on mount Spokane/huckleberry public lands and the Ryderwood area for elk." Are you talking about archery? When you bought the tag, you needed to declare either West or East for elk. You can't hunt both, unless I'm missing something, here.  :dunno: Best of luck, wherever you hunt.

I used to live in Spokane and I spotted Elk, Moose and deer often so I know they will be out there. We lost our home in Blaine to a disaster, so I left my gear with family and am flying back to make a 100% all or Nothing effort. I’m planning on staying out the 9th-19th. Hopefully god is with me and I have to fortitude to pull this off. I will be say a prayer that those who have yet to fill our tags will have better luck!

Can't help you much on the locations, or with a partner, but I do have a couple of words of advice. It's a real bummer that you aren't getting support from your family as you pursue something you're clearly passionate about. If you are fueling your fire to hunt with spite, you're going to burn yourself out, and lose the real reason why you're hunting. You don't have to prove someone else wrong, hunt to fulfill yourself and your passion. Killing an animal isn't going to change the mind of anybody that doesn't support your choice to hunt, so you have to do it for yourself. Go out and enjoy those 10 days in the field, and hopefully you notch a tag. If you don't, it's not the end of the world, most people don't every season. Our time in the woods is fleeting, so make the most of it.
I hunt, therefore I am.... I fish, therefore I lie.
