Alta Buck Deer - Any Whitetail Deer
« on: June 10, 2020, 10:45:21 PM »
My Daughter and I drew the Nov 1-20th Any Buck Deer Whitetail permits for Alta. It's been years since I've been over there, but have a buddy who just built a cabin nearby so figured it would be a good time to spend with my daughter if we managed to get drawn and we did.  Don't know what to expect.  Any insight is appreciated.

I live right there. Happy to discuss the area generally. Most Whitetail are on private, so door knocking will be your best friend.

The whitetail are all on private for the most part, but their are some state spots in this unit where you can find the WT.  Some of the state spots are open and a few are thick.  I had one son draw this tag last year and he got a 2-point. WT.  My oldest son drew the Gardner tag and never saw a legal buck in a spot he could hunt.  All on private that we couldn't get access to.
Cut em!
It's not the shells!  It's the shooter!
