Looking for a new rifle

Hey, y’all. I’m in the market for a rifle upgrade. I was wondering if there’s a website out there that has a database of all or most guns and can be filtered. I’m looking for something light, fiberglass stock, and cerakote barrel in 6.5 CM. I currently have a Weatherby and am fine sticking with them and getting something like a Weathermark, but am open to other options in the $1,500 range. It would be great if there was a database out there that I could filter and look at everything available. If not, I’m open to suggestions.

My first thought is to use a big box store like cabelas....use the drop downs and filters to get a working list....add in more semi customs on up to one like an RBros campgun option....i think they run 2k...now you have a decent list.

 FWIW, there are several lifetimes of knowledge right here on this site. I seriously doubt there is a gun/shooting/hunting related question you could ask that someone doesn’t know the answer to, or several valid opinions that would help you out once you get past the “man bun” comments regarding the CM.

I’d suggest just making a list of everything you want in the rifle then going too manufactures websites and seeing what they offer. Once you find a make and model that suits your criteria ask opinions on here and go handle them at gun stores.

Browning Hells Canyon speed fits that description.  If I were you, I'd look into a Tikka T3x superlight and then get it cerakoated.  Or if you're not stuck on cerakote, I would strongly look at the Savage 110 ultralight with the carbon Proof Research barrel.  My buddy has one and the thing shoots one ragged hole all day long.

I’m in the same boat. Possibly willing to spend up to 2k. My initial thoughts right now are: SA 2020 Waypoint (6.5 PRC), Hells Canyon Speed LR McMillan (7mag or 6.8W) or Seekins Havoc PH2 (7mag). If the Waypoint had a long track record and was offered in a caliber larger than 6.5, I’d probably already have one. Need to do a lot more research before purchase. Please share what you come up with.

That Waypoint is interesting - Carbon wrap over fluted barrel ?  90% of carbon doesn't touch the barrel ?  Wonder how that works.  Might be better or might not.  If they had a 300 prc I would like to try one.

In years past I was never a Christensen Arms fan about the only thing IMO they did well was make light rifles because accuracy wasn't that great but I have to give credit where credit is due and they've come a long way these past few years and are now producing some pretty good stuff.  You can get a Christensen Arms Ridgeline for $1899 at Cabela's in a variety of cartridges including 6.5 Creedmoor.  The Christensen Arms Ridgeline is dam near a full custom rifle at a price point you couldn't build one for.

My first thought is what will you be hunting ?  If its deer only, 6.5 is great, but if you intend to hunt bear and elk, Id opt for more power/heavier bullets.  The new 6.8 Western catches my eye "even though I am set and not in need" provided the new rifles that are being built for it have 7 twist barrels to support the 165 and 175 grain factory ammo so you could reload same.   

Plus I have 2 6.5 cm's and wouldnt bank on them for elk unless I had to, then I would limit them.  Oh ya, there are tons of high quality sub moa hunting rilfes out there to choose from that will shoot as good as any low end supposed custom.

I believe Brownings 6.8 is a 7.5 twist.
