Boat launch fees
« on: January 17, 2022, 12:42:15 PM »
Is anyone familiar with the small boat launch outside of South Bend? Stopped in to check it out and noticed it has a $5 launch fee. Map shows it as WDFW wildlife area. Is this legit?

There is a wildlife area adjacent but I didn't think the launch was part of it. I have used it to fish Willapa Bay, good launch, gets dicey on LOW tides.
Fish hard, hunt harder!

If it’s the developed launch I’m thinking of, pretty sure it’s operated by the city. At least the last time I was down there, it’s been years.

$5 is a bargain compared to the $15 that is charged at the launches around here.

$5 is a bargain for a city run ramp. Seemed odd to be paying for something on state land that we already pay for. So it must be like a concession on the state land, and the state does not maintain. Wonder if they will just sell all their ramps.
