Went out yesterday on the sxs for a couple hrs - saw atleast 20 grouse (combination) here in Ferry
Looks like it will be another great year
Tons of young birds as well
Looks like grouse and turkeys are doing very well

OUTSTANDING!

LABOR DAY.... AND WE HAVE 13 MORE DAYS TO GO!
May we ALL begin the opener like this.... It's on a Sunday, and I'm seriously considering taking the next day off. I've earned it.

Saw about 20 birds yesterday on the coast looking for elk. Tons of blues and a handful of the ruffed variety. Sure would have been a nice opening day especially with all the chanterelles I found…

We saw 9 over the weekend.  Eastern Wa. My son wasn't happy but is what it is.   we will be youth pheasant hunting western WA for the opener so he will miss the opener for grouse.    Why don't they open up grouse for youth on the 1st of September for the labor day weekend. ?

They moved the grouse opener from Sep1 to Sep15 because too many campers complained about gunshots ruining their labor day weekend.

What country can preserve it's liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon & pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots & tyrants.
