Governor's tag
« on: October 05, 2024, 12:17:51 AM »
I heard a bull was shot this week here around my home town (close to town) 400”+ using an outfitter from Oregon. Haven’t seen photos or seen the animal but reliable source from around here said it happened. Anyone know anything?

I have a photo of a guy with a 420" bull that was killed three weeks ago, about 100 yards from where I killed mine.  I was told it was one of the raffle tags, but could have been the Gov's Tag I guess (I don't know the guy).  The guy that took the picture thought he was seeing a poacher, took some pics and called the game warden.  Game Warden told him he knew all about it and it was a legal raffle tag.
Sorry, can't post the full face pic (I don't know the guy and don't have permission).

Ha, can't believe it took this long to show up on here.  It's the SE raffle tag bull.....He is staying silent and waiting for the drying period to end to see if it is the new Typical State record.

He's not on social media and not looking to boast about his hunt.  Great guy and amazing bull....No picture would do it justice.  He passed it several times thinking it was a 380-390' bull.

Really?
Was it really HW that was the problem?
Looks like Rokslide, Monter Muleys, and numerous other forums/message boards all had/have multiple page threads about that bull.

Who posted it on their own social media?

 :yeah:

And from tracking posts and checking up on it I noticed alot of the mud slinging on HW came from people getting "first hand" information from other sites like mentioned above. I would love to see the bull if anyone has a pic. Apparently the Oregon raffle tag holder shot his bull on the Washington side. So he's in big doodoo. 2 seperate cases of elk being shot on the Washington side by an Oregon hunter this year down there.

The Oregon hunters issues? Just heard it from the fish and game guys. No details as it's on the prosecutors desk as we speak. Just know it happened and he confirmed it.

It wasn’t a top secret the last several days of December where the giant bull was at but due to its urban location it would be next to impossible
to kill with a firearm and not be crucified for it even if it was completely legal... Definitely a hard decision to make with that caliber of bull but seems the hunter was correct.

Yeah, but it’s in reference to this hunt. https://hunting-washington.com/smf/index.php/topic,290256.msg3947840.html#msg3947840

I was just thinking he’d get a better answer posting it in there. ;)

The spotting scope pic has been removed.  everyone was speculating on a particular bull.  I had pictures of the bull but did not want to show the hunter's face.  The hunter has since come on Hunt Wa and posted pictures of the bull and removed all speculation.  No reason for the picture to stay up.

The photo removed was not the governor tag bull it was the SE combo raffle bull.
