I drew a Montana Tundra Swan Permit.

Has anyone else drawn a swan permit?  I guess the permit is all about timing.  Watch for when the birds show up and get there before it freezes or they are gone.  It could be a small window, but I will give it ago. It's for central MT.

It's not the shells!  It's the shooter!

I haven't hunted swans in Montana, bKeep an ut would love to one day.  Hunted 2 years in Nevada with success.  Awesome birds to decoy in.  7 foot wingspans and just fantastic watching them come in.  Would really like to try a swan safari of sorts. Montana, dakotas, utah and nevada in one season.
Best of luck.  Keep an eye on the web sites for population counts and the weather.  If you notice trend surveys, they usually arrive the same week every year.
