Rainier Archery Pro Shop?

For those of you that have gone to Rainier Archery, what do you think of their service. I bought my bow from them and have gotten some poor advice. I was just wondering if others have had bad experiences dealing with this pro shop. I personally won't be dealing with them any more.

NOT a fan of Joe at all......    Just my opinion and experience though and coming from other archery shops....

I was talking to the guys that work at sportsman's warehouse and another fellow and they felt the same way about that pro shop.

Wasn't impressed. Bought a dozen arrows and had them glue inserts and fletchings. Dude screwed up on 2 of the 12 FMJ's I bought from them.Had 10 usable arrows for the price of 12.

Nice enough guys but I wouldnt trust them with my bow after some of the work I have seen them do.  Of course I am very very picky and do all of my own.

John (not Joe) spent like three hours with me paper tuning my bow after I bought it complete. Finally came to a conclusion my arrow weight wasn't heavy enough and had to go a size up in carbons. I feel he did his best trying to make things right, I would hope so though, I had just spent over twelve hundred bucks on my setup. I've heard Joe can be a real ass sometimes. IMO, there are not too many archery pro shops that will satisfy everyone. I do 95% of all my own work on my bow anyway. What's a good shop around kitsap county?

ive dealt with them a couple of times. Never dealt with Joe specifically, but I had my bow tuned there a while back, so far so good- but im a little nervous now after reading these posts, i hope everything was done correctly. the last thing i want is my bow to kick over the week before archery elk opens. Im still new to the whole world of archery, but i havent had any major issues from them yet. location is the main driving force with me dealing with them.

A guy that I shot with last year had bought a new bow, rest, etc.  While we were shooting I noticed that his idler wheel was tracking poorly (way off to one side) and pointed it out to him.  All it needed was a few twists to one side of the yoke.  He told me that he was taking it in and they would go through it.  The following week we shot and they didnt change a thing.  Something so obvious should have been corrected. Not a huge thing, but should have been corrected.

It's the most convenient shop for me, however I won't use them for anything technical.  In my opinion there's more arrogance than skill.  It's shops like this that encouraged me to start doing all my own work.

I went to them before Lucky shot opened up. They cut and inserted a dozen axis arrows for me. About half were cut at the wrong length a little bit. Not enough to ruin the arrow , just enough to piss me off!

I think muleysniper may be correct. You might have the wrong spined arrow for your set up. Or something to do with your rest, maybe your nock moved?

I would suggest taking it to a proshop other than sportsmens warehouse. Rainer Archery is a good one and so is Northwest. Both are in Puyallup. Northwest(Skookum) is off of shaw road and Rainer moved out to Graham, but are right off of Meridian, both are hoyt dealers and very knowledgeable. Not to bad of a drive to either probably take you thirty minutes from federal way.

My general is just fine, I think they have known about this minor risk for a while because my bow already has the parts on the bow that they are recalling some for. They recommend getting new limbs if you bought your bow before July 15, which I did, but my bow already had the modification on it and has worked flawlessly.

Yes, i used to think they were a good shop. This is where I bought my bowtech general. After doing some reading on the internet and watching the guy work on my bow and find out he was using the wrong press on my bow which could have compromised my limbs on my bow, I just think that is pretty crappy... a pro shop has this name for a reason, because professionals are supposed to work there. IMO a professional should know what press works for a certain bow and which one should never be used on it. I have also been back one more time, which I had purchased a fuse string suppressor and a release. The release turned out to be bad and I exchanged it. Nothing I could do about that or the shop could do besides exchange it, but when it came to the string suppressor I asked if there needed to be serving there because it says that on the majority of those when you install it to put some there. He said it didn't matter. I don't know how many shots later but my string was started to fray pretty good. This IMO compromises the integrity of the string. That is the only two times I have been to that pro shop and it will be my last. If you are going to do half ass work and not work on a bow as you would your own, then I am not going to do business there. So yes I have changed my opinion of this pro shop, I wouldn't recommend them to anybody. I am sure there are guys that disagree with how I feel and those are the guys that probably keep Rainier Archery in business. I was just curious to see if I was the only one that had problems of doing business with this pro shop and it seems that the majority feel the same as I do.

Why doesntmatter did you bring my old problem (post) to this topic. I sold my Hoyt and got a mathews about a month ago. I'm not sure what  "running for political office" means, I don't even know for sure it was meant for me. Thanks for your advice but like I said old news since I sold it. Mike

I've only been there once and their service wasn't too good. They seemed more interested in BSing at the front counter. When I finally did get some service, it was good, but have only had one experience.

Three Rivers Archery in Longview has great service if you're in the area.
