Here is a decent size bear track as a reference.  The bear tracks don't show the claw marks like the first pic.

Looks like it may be on a road?   Could it have been a domestic dog track?

Always a possibility....but not likely based on location.  I also did not see any other tracks near muddier portions of the road in close proximity.  These tracks appeared on the road out of thick brush and dissapeared about 20 feet later.  There was a big muddy spot about 100 yards further up and nothing.

Definitely a wolverine. Just kidding, but a wolverine would be cool. Probably bear.

As others have said, unless you've got Samsquatch feet that's a coyote or domestic dog. Wolf tracks are almost shockingly big, and notably wider in size and toe spacing than tracks of even big domestic dogs. That one looks too small and narrow if it is even canine. Maybe bear, but hard to be certain without seeing other tracks or track spacing.

A good resource:

Wouldn't that be a bear track since there are 5 toes?
May I always be the kind of person my dog thinks I am.

:yeah:Dog's don't have 5 toes and the one claw mark is way too far back for any species of dog. It must have been a bear. Maybe it startled and pushed off from there and it's claws dug in just slightly. :dunno:
