I'm not sure how and why the word "incentive" became unpopular and disliked among hunters, who generally tend to support systems such as capitalism which reward effort, but it seems to have.

If the incentives are available to anyone willing to earn them, I'm in favor.

Nope, keep them.  Probably the easiest question to answer with all our debates on here, I bet a poll would have it over 90%.  That's if everyone who voted knew what they were voting for, unlike the RTA tax!   :bash:

Okay, made the move now for some discussion.

I think the incentive tags are bonus and in theory anyone should be eligible if you just follow the rules of reporting on time.

The hunter ed incentive tags are different as only hunter ed guys can apply if they meet the requirements.  Technically anybody could become a hunter ed instructor so it is still open to anyone that wants to put in the effort.

I think incentive permits are a good idea and I think they should keep them.

I assume because you have asked the question you have some thoughts on this.  What is the reason that you are asking the question?
Pain is temporary, achieving the goal is worth it.

I didn't say it would be easy, I said it would be worth it.

:yeah:, if you vote yes to eliminate, please explain why?  Not a rub here, just curious.

I have another thread that was being derailed. That thread is about whether the auction tags, like the Governor's tag, should be eliminated. A couple of posters insisted on making it the same issue as for the incentive tags, which it's not. So I started this thread. I believe in keeping the incentive tags as they're open to all. If you become an instructor, master hunter, or put your reports in early, you can draw a tag. No one is too poor or unqualified to participate.

It's interesting that none of the "yes" votes have explained their reasoning for wanting them gone.  :dunno:

:yeah: maybe they don't have a good reason and just like to go against the grain?

I don't report unless I'm unsuccessful or it's mandatory. Last thing you want is a bunch of people looking at harvest reports saying this looks like a good place to hunt.

How do you feel about incentive tags being drawn? That's the discussion here.

I think incentive tags are a resource multiplier.  It's a way to encourage needed behavior without having to shell out any real $.  It's a way to encourage volunteerism, turning in paperwork, and a way of saying thank you.
In archery we have something like the way of the superior man. When the archer misses the center of the target, he turns round and seeks for the cause of his failure in himself.
