Wow, worked hard again today and came up with zip as far as birds go but still have a GREAT time. We saw so many pheasant hens we lost count saw either 4 of the luckiest roosters or we were the worst shots in the world today. Covered more land today than in previous hunts and found some things are changing. All hens were in heavy cover and all roosters were in thin cover and in one case hiding in plain sight.

Got back to truck at dusk, watered up, fed dog, ate some food and started home and got stopped by the game warden. He did a license check, I asked him if he wanted to check the back of the truck and he did indeed. I told him that the back was full of blood, feathers and a messy axe from cleaning ducks. He was not excited at all by what he saw. He did ask me if I was duck hunting with a hatchet though.

Birds or no birds I had a wonderful day with a good friend and my dog.
