home meat coolers/cool bot?
« on: July 04, 2011, 02:12:47 AM »
Has anyone used one of these for their home meat coolers? I wanna build my own cooler here at the house and think that if these are what they claim then that would be the ticket. Any ideas?

Looks interesting.  I was thinking of building a pumphouse this summer and making it big enough and insulated to be a deer hanging/butcher room for those September archery deer.

They seem to work fairly well.  I know someone who has one and I actually hung my deer in it last year.  Bear

:yeah:
I've been thinking about extending my pumphouse by an additional 10x14' to make a walk in cooler/freezer.  This thing might be the ticket for the cooler part.

Doing that this summer off of my pumphouse.  Not using the cool bot though.  Planning on using a Ranco ETC-111000.  Same idea, but cheaper.  Not 100% sure yet though.  I poured the slab already and just need to get my but in gear to get it done.

i have a friend that made a cooler, all he used was the window mount ac unit, he built a room in his barn that is 4x8 and insulated, with just the ac unit, it stays very cold...

A wall mount is what the cool bot uses. Manipulates the thermostat. Makes it think the room is warmer than it is. Than shuts down before the ac ices over. Great lil units. Spendy though. The thermostat I mentioned can be found on ebay for fairly cheap. There are videos on youtube showing how to wire it. Real easy!!
