Bear calling
« on: March 17, 2018, 03:05:13 PM »
I'm not going to pretend like I know the first thing about calling bears or bear hunting. I've devoted a lot of time these past couple years into hunting bears but have never connected. I know most of you guys are gearing up for spring bear and I've been trying to absorb as much info from that plus previous years posts on how to hunt them. Just wondering if calling is as effective in the Fall season and if there is any specific things I should look for to find good bear areas. I hunt a few areas with really good berry patches but the issue I've had is that either I see a bear in the areas and don't have enough time to get into range and make a proper shot or the bears never show. Wanting to try a more proactive style this year in calling and wanting any input I can get on which calls would work best or whether calling that time of year is as productive/worth trying. Thanks in advance everybody!
