Thurston County Gun Ban Video?
« on: March 02, 2012, 12:55:49 PM »
This was sent to me and it certainly raises some questions.

All gun owners in Washington may want to weigh in on this, apparently county officials are trying to ban shooting in Thurston County. Gun Bans spread like a cancer once passed.

What is going on here and what is your opinion?

Funny how stupid that sounds to us! But many people will see no problems in the thinking involved in that video! Almost scary  :bash:

It sounds sarcastic to me, as if it were made to make fun of those seeking a gun ban.  Sounds related to the shoreline shooting ban that was discussed last year.

This is a slam on Don Krupp (County Manager) and Sandra Romero who is a Thurston County Commissioner. Basically these nut jobs (including the other two bimbo commissioners) are out to ban duck hunting in the south end of Puget Sound.

This has been an ongoing issue for about two years now. We have had a couple threads here about it and some site members have gone to some meetings.

If you click the video you can go to the YouTube page where there is more information.

My immediate concern is that bans like this will spread like cancer once they are started, form one county to another. I was told there is already a ban in another county (kitsap?), is that true?

This may be a good thing to stay actively opposed?

Kitsap was one range...a range that had been there for almost 90 years and then housing sprang up around the mid 80's and continued to expand.  The next place to expand housing would be the range itself.  There are some other ranges in Kitsap.

A few years back Jefferson County tried to ban discharge of all firearms.  It failed, but they tried.  That is one of the best areas to shoot because of how few people and how much land is available.  But the county is run by Port Townsend--if you haven't been there think 1960's San Francisco hippies.
