Yeah whats up with that...My dad just pick one up last weekend from Sportco for $339 and that was on alittle deal because the Ruger guys were there that weekend.  For $250 I have to get one...is it a sale, if so do you know how long will it go for?

Yeah they are normally $349 but they are on sale for $100 off. And the sale paper says it is good until July 4th but maybe the rifle is different. I picked up the last one in 30-06 that the store in Lacey had, so I am not sure if there will be too left in other stores. The guy said that there were 7 when they opened this mornig and I bought the last one at around 2.

I called the Portland store a little bit ago and they said that they had 7 this morning and sold all by noon.

I've heard that the Ruger American is a good rifle, not that pretty, but good.

A  friend told me about the sale went to Wholesale Sports and there was a couple left, but I need another rifle like I need a hole in my head.   Walked out with nothing.

Just picked up the .243 for the wife, we'll see if it shoots as well as the reviews say it does. Hopes are high concerned about the price VS quality though. Anyone put rounds through any of them yet?

I got the 30-06 last month for $350 :(
I've put 40 rounds through it, and so far it's as accurate as I can shoot. :dunno:
The kick surprised me at first, but for how the light the gun is it's not bad.

We finally got to the range to put some rounds through my dads new Ruger American 30.06 and my sons Thompson Center Venture .300 Win Mag.  Both were really accurate.  My dad shot 180 grain Fusion and my son shot 180 grain Federal Premium Trophy Bonded Tip.

Good choice. The new Ruger America is great gun value - well made and accurate. If I hadn't already purchased my Weatherby Vanguard Series 2 I'd have no trouble buying the Ruger American. You will get years of great shooting out of that gun.
