any bow fishing spot near seattle area?

Anyone know any spot near Seattle area, willing to drive 2-4 hours if anything; it would be nice too if there's campsite near if I have to drive that far, also I don't really have a boat but was looking to purchase a canoe or kayak.

I think bow fishing out of a canoe or kayak would be damned near impossible. You have to have something that you can at least stand up in comfortably to reduce your arrow angle. Unsure of locations but hopefully someone will have some ideas. I think a small aluminum boat may be a better way to go for you though.

if ur willing to drive 2-4 hours then i would come over to the eastside, there are a bunch of places full of carp, potholes reservoir is full of them and you can either camp at potholes state park, or mardon resort

i agree with that one!, a canoe is do able, did it for a long time but you need another person to keep it straight and all that good stuff

Look like a good spot, do you need special permits or license?

You need a fishing license i think but you can stay at the sand dunes for free and beach the boat right there so you dont have to pull it daily

No license is required in Washington State when bowfishing. However only non-game species, Carp, is legal and gaffs cannot be used.

Washington State Department of Fish and Wildlife has a great resource for finding fishing areas. You can search by species or county. Take a look at http://wdfw.wa.gov/fishing/washington/species.html

At quick glance I can see about 6 west side lakes that have carp. Just be aware that many west side lakes are in populated areas and I am sure that dead fish floating on the beach will quickly be frowned upon.

As many others have suggested, regardless of what you find in your area, try and plan a trip to the east side. The Tri-Cities is FULL of great bowfishing areas and there is a lot of bank access.
