I'm still learning to field judge moose and I thank you for the pictures. This last moose is good, but he's no record bull. He looks no wider then 45". Good fronts. It would be nice to look at a side view of this bull. His palms are dished, older bulls are flatter. But, like I said, I'm still learning.

I will get in line behind you M_Ray!!  I would not pass on that bull, which is why I will never get a record book bull if I EVER draw the tag! :bash:

I didn't know where to put this so I'll add it here.  This is a article on the health benefits of moose.

In general a 45" w/ good fronts will usually be a pretty damn nice Shiras.  Obviously there's more to than just that but all in all when you start w/ those 2 qualities I'd bet that you're often lookin at a shooter.

That bull is no record bull. If I want to shoot a record bull I'd have to pass on him. I just need to make sure I don't pass on the wrong bull. That's why I'm learning all I can about field judging moose. There's some big bulls in 49, so I'm going to try and hold off for a bull of a life time to top off my once in a life time kill in Washington.

He may not be a record bull but he would look pretty good on the wall.  I wouldn't pass him up.

I would GPS his location, and about the third week of my hunt I would take him. When time is running out, my pickyness well go away.
