Love the kenetrex gaiters I got, no problems yet and it was thick and wet everyday I was in the woods last year, no water sown my boots.  I really like the buckles on them, much nicer than Velcro or the bungies.

Cabelas Ultimate goretex gaiters. Used then two seasons so far and love them. Quiet and good quality.

Got it for christmas last year.  Great bang for the buck!

I have DESTROYED the kenetrek gaiters in ~ one month of winter hiking/houd chasing.  They couldn't hold up.  I walked out of several pairs of the chaepo gaiters available through cabelas and sportsmans warehouse.

I settled on a pair of the OR gaiters and like them so far.  They made it two months this winter and are still in good shape.  I'm going to see how they hold up in December.  I'll be in them for 15 days straight cat hunting and doing some big walking.

Noise and color are not a concern- these are only for keeping snow out of my boots.

The Kuiu's are nice from what I can tell so far!  Although I think they are a bit noisey imho.  I think for being a soft shell TOUGH feeling fabric they are about as quiet as you're going to find however.  Who knows?  I like 'em...

I had a pair from REI that were made of the material like sails are made of they were great, One year I decided to get some with a soft material on the outside because they looked quieter well by the end of the day they are covered by those little round prickly things.
When I pass, do not let my wife sell the guns for what I told her they cost.

Thanks guys for the info.  I had the option to get in on the pre-order for the gaiters but I opted not too because of color.  I think major brown would be my color of choice but Vias might be good too.

I've owned about every major brand gaiter out there.  Some of the fleece models were quiet, but didn't have a snug fit.  Some had a good snug fit, but were loud as hell.  Some seemed to fit the bill, but didn't hold up.  As of right now, I will continue to use the Kenetrek gaiters.  The pair I use most has several hundred miles on them in a lot of steep country, rocks, brush, and crusty snow.  I had the hard rubber strap sewed to the gaiter instead of relying on the buckle.  I wear the same style boots, so a non-adjustable fit didn't matter to me.  When noise isn't an isssue, I use OR gaiters.  They are built to take abuse, yet still fit snug.  A couple semi-recent pairs I've tried included Sitka and Black Diamond.  The Sitka's gaiter is built about as strong as any, but didn't fit me the way I like.  They were aslo very loud and spendy.  The Black Diamond's were junk, and were sent back twice and rebuilt after only a day in the hills.  I would like to try the KUIU's, but decided against it because of the material they used.  Noise is a big issue to me.  I feel biggest issue with a pair of gaiters is the foot strap.  It's usually the first to give.  Nobody builds one as strong as I'd like it to be. :twocents:
