awesome, whats the deal with dude drilling into your horn though?
Somebody already answered this but I will go into a bit more detail. From the time you kill your ram you have something like 48 hours to get in touch with the Fish and Game office. We left the unit the next day and called the biologist at home. He came down on a Sunday night to put the plug into the horn. They drill all legally killed rams and insert a numbered metal plug (that would be very hard to get back out) to identify it as a ram taken in Oregon. Then they record the ram's information (kill site, date, score, hunter, etc.). I don't know if all states do this, but I imagine most do. It's a good way to keep track of legally harvested rams in case a big one shows up for sale on the private market somewhere.
RubblesPH, glad you made it down. I'm excited for you to have the tag this year as you sound like you're going to do it justice. I really hope you find a big one. I will be available to call you this Fri/Sat. afternoon/night (your time) so just let me know what is better.
