Who is shooting a 6.8 SPC???
« on: July 03, 2012, 09:09:31 AM »
I would like to know what is your long range with this caliber?  200-300-400 yds?  What are your groups?  Did you ever hunt with your 6.8 SPC?  If so did you make a kill?  What scope did you put on it?  Anything helps, I am in the process of making my military style AR to the perfect hunting AR. Any ideas??  Thanks!

I was going to go with the 6.8 but ended up going with the 6.5 Grendel instead, and I love it.

:hello:  I am.  Just finally got my upper in two weeks ago, after a 9 week wait.  I've only been to the range with it once, last Friday.  I didn't shoot any great distances with it.  My scope wasn't in, so I just basically did some plinking with it.  If you haven't found it yet, check out http://68forums.com/forums/forum.php?s=e71310a9a5f759e556459d8f611eed0b for lots of info on the cartridge.

There is a hunting section there.  It's very popular with the hog hunters, and some deer hunters.  I hope to take a whitetail with it this fall...

Stag 7H.  I''m having some challenges right now with it.  I'm thinking that it's a scope mount issue.   Feeds and ejects just fine.  Grouping very nicely off the paper right and low at 25 yards with my scope maxed out to the left.   :yike:  When I look at the scope and rifle from above the butt, it seems I can actually see that they aren't aligned.  Might be the Nikon P-series mounts.  Seems that when I tighten them down to the rail, they twist a bit.  Gonna take it back, and try a Burris PEPR mount.
